Oh dear ... :(

Is this the one you were trying to repair, or the normal in-use one (which would be really bad news ...)   :'( :'( :'(

What doesn't use flash these days? Makes me wonder if there'll be any classic cars from the current crop. If all the flash in the ECUs dies, so does the car. :'(

I guess the one consolation is that if it's a removable card it can be replaced easily if not cheaply.  :-/

Is there any prospect of replacing it with a battery backed SRAM?

Not sure, not entirely familiar with the different controllers on Linear flash.  Think Tech2 is S5, but don't fully understand...

If you are really stuck, I have a 10MB card you can borrow for a short while. Not as big as you really need, can you cut down the files a bit ?.

Thanks!

I'm just waiting to hear how old the old 10Mb image is - if its too old, its probably not much use though.

Nope

1) It needs to be a specific controller type
2) It Needs to be Linear NAND flash

Modern memory is NOR flash and a very different architecture and access system  :y
