Well most of you know me as Geffd - but As I am known as a few other name's (watch it ronnie) i thought I would start this new forum with my other well known name on the Vectra front(vvoc) as V6man54deg.
I am not an owner (as of yet) of an Omega - but do own a couple of V6 vectra's (one sold as of the weekend - fingers crossed) but as an ex V6 engine plant - engine technician have a lot of knowledge to share with Omega owners.
I have worked for Vauxhall in Ellesmere Port for the last 21 years / 12 years on Durability testing/ warranty work on the V6 engine - this job took me not only to many dealerships in the UK but six trips to the many USA plants that used our engine, Saab in Trollhatton for the 900,9000 and 9-5 V6 turbo and Russelshiem Germany for the Vectra & Omega V6.
Now I spend many a weekend working on V6 engines with an ex collegue of mine, as he bought all of the V6 engine plant specialist tools we carry out timing belt changes, oil & coolant leak problems and full engine rebuilds - so if you have a V6 problem get in touch.
anyway enough of the plugs - back to who i am......
my Name is Geoff I'm 41 married and have two sons (none interested in cars :'() my other interests are I'm a Royal Naval reservist - who is about to be called up Again!!!!!!..... for Afgahnistan to support the marines (yes I know there is no sea around there i think they want me to change cam belts or something...... just looking for six months off work ;D

Glad to be among the Omega boy's - I drove one back to the owner last weekend and loved the drive thought about buying one - then I looked at the fuel consumption........................ Vectra is staying for now, but when I get back from my six month holiday might px the Saab for a DTI estate - Keep your eyes out for one Ronnie.

Or do what I did!
autogasworldwide - they know me there and are very helpfull
The V6s convert quite well
-
Notice you have a caravan on the pic - does it tow well on gas?
what sort of price for the conversion?
is there much of a drop in power on gas? or is that just on single point conversions?
can you get a tank to fit in the spare wheel well - just that I noticed an estate lpg vauxhall conversion on ebay that had a huge box in the boot - wouldn't get my tools in with that in the way!
I hear the engine runs a lot hotter on gas - is this true or a forum Myth?
if all the above questions are yes - I am up for one!!

I have a 60l tank behind the seats, Taxi Driver has an LPG estate.
I haven't yet towed with this one, but the MV6 walked it - in fact (on petrol since the LPG system was not properly set up) it out accelerated a Scenic. On the return trip it cruised at 70 with van on on gas.
The 2.0 was OK but petrol only.
When I get back from next holiday I will have a report.
