Title: Indian moon landing
Post by: ronnyd on 23 August 2023, 15:30:44
Well done to the Indians for managing to put a lander onto the dark side of the moon. I wonder how much of the millions we give to them as aid, (dressed up as 'economic development') helped to pay for that extravagance. Millions of their citizens are starving for goodness sake.

We said the same ronny.

When the Russian craft crashed going to do the same, we wondered if they would claim it was caused by a Ukranian drone!

It's only a few pence each for the people in the human pyramid big enough to reach the moon...

It's a fantastic achievement for India. I hope the rover is deployed successfully, it will be interesting to see what it finds.

I'd be far happier if they could just get our takeaway order here within 15 minutes, bugger the moon.

I read that the maximum spent for their space programme is $2.6 billion. What will they do when the kitty runs out? Just give up or have a whip round? Like down the local pub.  ;D

This junket only cost 74 million dollars. Peanuts compaed to Nasa budget for Artemis ( manned though). No doubt one day, the mineral rights and land on moon will divied up between the four countries that bothered to go there. Might just end up being a great move by India.
