Now that makes sense from 2026 allegedly, music to my ears after all this electric shite.

Following a couple of landslides onto a main road locally, Highways have made it single lane, traffic light controlled, using a double stack of concrete Lego. Pulling up the hill in second gear is most satisfying. It's the simple things... >:D

Will you be giving your stockbroker a ring in three years time then Mick? ;D
-
Oh, a partial story.
I am guessing this only applies to the C and E class as its still available in the higher end models, it would be good news as the shockingly shit over boosted four pot they have been peddling is far to highly strung and crap on power delivery.
I just wish Merc could make a chassis to match the power plant, that said I guess you could buy an Aston in that case.

The original E63 was 6.3 litres of N/A V8 goodness.
It then became 5.5 litres of turbocharged V8 grunt.
Which then became a 4 litre turbocharged V8 lump.
I hear the latest E63 model is a 2 litre 4 pot with lots of electrical help. :-X
-
Quite happy with 5.5 litres and 388Bhp of normally aspirated goodness >:D

A colleague of mine had an E63 AMG it sounded superb , beautiful condition and it was an absolute steal from Matthewsons auction company in Yorkshire came with full history & low miles, unfortunately it got sideswiped on his way to work one morning still driveable but never the same he was almost in tears that day.

Only possible with a super charger, and to a lesser extent, NA engines. Turbos remove to much energy from the exhaust >:D

Why do European V8s make such a horrible noise? And why is there so much of it, especially at low RPM? The spitting and backfiring on over run is even more annoying. My Sunbeam Ti used to do it until I repaired the stripped exhaust studs.

Ditto my Westfield until I mapped it properly. Still, the ego-massage option is an important one these days... ;)

Sound can be a sensory delight which is why you'd prefer a sexy fragrant French woman whispering in your ear rather than Angela Rayner. :)
