Fish looks good, nice and big. Chips don't look much though.

I just hope that Skruntie actually went out to the chippy for his tea.  :-\

With his record of all things computer/internet he's probably still hungry if he ordered it via a delivery service using a discount code he got from Google!  ;D

What a whopper - bet it was stone cold by the time the plate was empty though.

As a kid we were visiting Granny and Dad decided it was time for Fish & Chips.

I must have been 6/7 years old but to this day I swear they the best I have ever eaten. :P

The shop was busy, was ran by 2 old ladys, food was cooked in beef dripping but the range was heated by coke.

That was in Langley Park.

Up in Aberdeen where my Mum was from, Lots of fish varieties on offer allways fresh, wish I had tried them all but not been up there since I was 16.  Miss the fish suppers (2 fish)

Even further up north at my Great Grannys in a place called Cullen.  I was sent to the chippy with £20 and got change after buying food for all the family that turned up.  (14 of us - from memory 9 fish suppers, plus sausage and pie meals & peas etc.  They even bagged up the rest of the food for us and shut shop)

The Good Old Days. :y :y

When I was 17 I helped out during harvest at a farm . The eldest son was 19 and had a no 10 meccano set. But I digress. On Fridays Mrs Farmer got take away fish and chips for all the workers. I remember Martin always had fish and chips thrice. Mind you in those days you didnt get a mound of chips like you do now.

Why do these pretentious places insist on serving their food on bits of old floor board?  ::)
