The 1300L I made into my stock car was that colour

When I bought my Mexico new in 1973 I had the choice of two at the dealership one in that green or the other in electric blue with white logos ,I was told that green was unlucky by my old nan so bought the blue one , as she had given me £300 towards it.

A 1979 RS2000 Escort Mk2 for for £50500 on an old episode of Bangers and Cash last night. :o :o :o :o :o
Fast Fords seems to fetch far more than fast Vauxhalls for some reason.

A superior product (Vauxhall ) means there's more left
Old fords are rare because they rusted, broke and got scrapped years ago :P

Thank you for that; I needed a laugh.

Lads, how about this for a classic BL beauty from the seventies.
Orange with a brown vinyl roof. What's not to like. :y
I used to own one (a 1700 HL) and I actually thought it was pretty good....shudder. :)

never owned a Princess although when they first came out I did like the look of them compared to the three box saloons everyone else was churning out[Cortina/fiat 131/132/Mirafiori etc] I did however have an Ambassador 2.0HLS in the late '80's.comfy,spacious and reliable[could have done with a 5 speed gearbox] I was absolutely gutted when it was written off by a drunk in a Transit van.

it was only in recent years when someone pointed it out to me that I realised one was a hatchback & the other had a boot! ??? ;D ;D ;D Shows how much notice I took of them. ::) ::)
But .... I can remember way back when new car registrations came out on 1st Aug .... MEN 700R was the first new reg I saw that day & it was on a white Princess. :y

The 18/22 Princess[18 because of four cylinders and 1.8L 22 because of 6 cylinders and 2.2L]later shortened to just Princess was the last car to carry the Wolsely badge.

2.2 was a nice engine, 6 cyl maxi engine. Yes I am old enough to have worked on them when they were new. All the Escorts (inc a 100e Escort estate) Tin corners all models , all the 60s and 70s stuff that you got in a country garage.
