Preferable to the original?

Nice
A lad that worked for my Dad used the works garage and popped the straight 6 out and wiggled a Rover V8 in, sounded smart with the custom exhausts on it (Mainly staight through with a single muffler each bank) went well, he allways had a big grin when he planted it.

It would be pretty difficult to make one worse than the original. ;D

The original 2.5 petrol injected straight 6 was supposed to produce 150 BHP in early models......and they don't weigh much by the 'fat bastards' standard of 2023 cars. ::)

No way in the world did that produce 150bhp. And if it had, it would have tied the awful chassis in knots even more than it already did.
They were shite then, and even more shite now. :)

I'm starting to think you don't like the TR6, my French friend. ::) ::) ;)

Having driven a standard one in the 70,s and a race tuned / prepared one about 15 years ago, I can say with confidence they were fickin awful things to drive.
And if you ever call me French again I will come up to Lincs. and make you cry in front of the current Mrs. Opti. ;D

I won't cry but the string of onions around your neck will certainly make my eyes water.... ;) ;D ;D ;D

Always liked the TR6 , my uncle had a yellow one must have been around 1976 sounded & looked superb traded it in for a Rover 3500 V8 estate which was quite a rare vehicle.
