Because we're driving about five times more miles than 2020/2021, electric cars are generally written off for even minor damage (actually that's true of many newer cars because of the delay getting parts) and one person single handedly burnt down a multi storey car park with about 1,500 cars in it.

My insurance renewal last month for one car would have been a 40% increase but a quick call to them reduced it to a 16% increase, so I’m happy enough with that. Always worth a call.  :y

Just watched a video on you tube.......some bloke slagging off electric cars. He has a Porsche thingy, had it two years. He reckons his insurance last year was 600 quid, this year they want over 3,000 quid  :o He bought the car for over a hundred grand new, still owes over 70 grand.....Porsche offered him
60,000 for it part exchange, and We Buy Any Car, 51,000. He tried some other insurance companies, and some won't even insure EV's !!!!
He also reckons Rishi putting back the cut off date to 2035 has contributed to the devaluation, as both Porsche and WBAC both offered him slightly more before the announcement. !!!

He would sell it in a heartbeat, but he's over £20k underwater on it.

And trying to 'race' a 14 year old BMW 320D  from John O'Groats to Lands End broke him. Literally.

And if losing by over 7 hours was bad enough, it cost him over twice the amount to do it... £269 Vs £122.

I'll have to watch that, it's a bit lengthy though.
