Title: No gear selector lights
Post by: artsoul_no1 on 11 November 2023, 15:32:53
Afternoon All

My 2002 2.6 had no gear selector lights with engine management light and TC lights up when i took it off the drive earlier. Reverses okay but limp mode on forward gears.

Had the AA out with their whizzy code reader and got fault code 0705 told its drive position sensor, does this sound right?

If so

What part number are they and are they hard to fit?

Thanks

Start with cleaning the selector switch. There's a guide  ;)

Thanks all

So more likely to be the selector switch than a sensor? I discounted the switch as I thought all the gear selector lights came on rather than no lights.

Is it as easy as undoing two bolts, unclipping connectors and taking off?

Do you get any lights at all when moving the stick, even if s brief flash.

If not, might be worth running through the fuses first.

I'd be asking the AA for a refund!

When I bought my Boxster very cheap, the ABS light was on and the speedo didnt work.
Owner suspected serious and expensive electrical problems. It turned out to be a blown fuse.  :D
