It was never intended as anything other than a distraction from their inability to come up with a practical policy that could actually do something. Now, it's not their fault but the court's.

I've used this before but it bears repeating:
modern Conservatives - the shittiest politicians not very much money can buy.

Following the end of the war there was a large spike in births  between 1946 and 1964. Now known as 'baby boomers'

Of that huge spike 99% would have been white.

Today, many of the boomers are old, and many are now dropping off the perch at an alarming rate.

The next spike in the birth rate will look very different to the boomer generation.....just saying. ::)

Suella made the same point so clearly she had to go. :-X

Why have a government? Every time they try to do something, someone else gets the courts involved and un-elected judges overturn it. We all know that the Tories are an inept bunch of idiots, but the alternatives are even more unpalatable.

They are pretty pointless.

Globalism with a CBDC is the way we are heading. Bill Gates, Tony Blair, the WEF and WHO will be all we need. :-\

You'd think.....  ::)

That when the government brings in controversial policies and draws up the legislation, they would make sure that it is watertight and immune from legal challenges.  ???

I'd think that there are government lawyers who should have been given their P45's today.  ::)

The pot was empty years ago. Its all on the never never now, which wasnt so bad when interest rates were close to 0%.
Now the interest alone on the National debt is £110billion a year. The highest in the developed world.
The really scary thing is that none of them seem to give a shit.

Time for a war, good way to sort out debt?

Funny thing is that we were led to believe that it was Liz Truss's mini-budget that caused chaos in the bond markets and caused a spike in yields, ultimately ending in the sacking of Kwasi Kwarteng and the downfall of Truss.

Yet yields have been higher for most of Sunak's premiership than they were during Truss's brief term and there's not a murmur....  ::)

High bond rates are a bad thing because they're inversely proportional to growth.

Do you have a particular victim/culprit/aggressor in mind, or should we just pick one for political expediency?

If it's the latter, how about Liechtenstein? That would save the Navy getting involved, and we have instant scapegoats in Switzerland, Germany and Austria not allowing us to cross their territory to shoot a few people. Then we could get Braverman to change a few words in her hilarious letter to the PM and everybody is happy.

Truth be known most in the Tory party including Bojo are wholly unconcerned about immigration, despite what they say.

Many in the Tory party could seamlessly slip into the Labour party, or Lib Dem party, without changing their views on the world.

There are plenty of states arming themselves to the teeth.
There are plenty of conflicts around the world. It wouldn’t take much to have the UK dragged into a war. Maybe that is why Rishi brought in Lord Cameron .

We might not fare that well as bizarrely little effort has been made to replace kit or ammunition sent to Ukraine.

I am not advocating a war just saying it would be a way of resetting finance.

A new term seems to have entered the lexicon recently. Increasingly Tory MP's are approvingly described by the media as 'Tory Moderates', implying that traditional small 'c' conservatives are extremists.  ::)

In Thatcher's day such Tory Moderates were known as the Tory Wets!  :)

Wow there’s some stuff coming out here on GB news 😱
GB News' current direction is to spout shite using sensationalist "journalism", in an effect to cause outrage.  Outrage = Engagement, which looks good to them.

Such a shame, it had real potential for the first few weeks, but became every bit as pointless/inaccurate/agenda driven as the BBC/Sky/Ch4 from a news perspective.

But, still, many take it as gospel.

That’s your view, I don’t agree at all, although there may be some sensationalism, I think over 90% of their reports are mostly the truth. On the other hand with the BBC they have it 90% lies

But, still, many take it as gospel.

The BBC really have outdone themselves this time with their blatant anti Israel bias.  ::)

I could only laugh last night watching the News At 10 when Jeremy Bowen suggested that the AK47's found by the IDF, tucked away behind an MRI scanner in the Al-Shifa Hospital, might have been left there by the hospitals security team.  ;D

Well I suppose they could have been, but...  :-X  :-\  ::)

GB news is one of the very few stations that will say it as it is and report on real things going wrong in the country IMHO, presenting the news sometimes in an over the top manner is a small price to pay for an insight into what’s really going on as far as I’m concerned, and the BBC has become over run by woke left wing idiots to my mind.
