Title: Nice work, if you can get it.
Post by: Migv6 le Frog Fan on 27 November 2023, 17:36:50
Many civil servants and council workers are still unbelievably working from home after the chinky flu pandemic.
Its now coming to light that quite a few have actually been doing second jobs, so taking the taxpayer funded salaries for doing far call.

No reason why they shouldnt face instant dismissal and prosecution for fraud, but I doubt it will happen.   >:(

WFH, for any company, has always had a small percentage of piss takers.  Obviously, British management is too shit to deal with individuals, so create stupid procedures that end up impacting those honest employees, and doing little for the piss takers.

No need to ask how I know that ;D

My Grandson works from home, the bonus being that the amount of time he spends at the local gym he has turned into somebody who'd put Arnold Schwarzenegger to shame..😂

Working at a University I see rakes of empty academic offices and support staff offices. Our IT department believe they can fix anything remotly so much so, one has moved to Cornwall, another to Blackpool. Trying to get something sorted can now take up to 8 weeks before a response from them, let alone getting the issue sorted. Cant say anything as the place is full of woke W*nkers

been working from home now about 16 years,
the office moved from 11 miles away to 33, and the wrong side of York,
3/4 of the staff work from home, no point driving an hour each way when I am on site locally,

All fine as long as your not taking a salary from the taxpayer and then doing another job, instead of the one you were originally paid to do.  :)

The dishonesty comes from not declaring  the second job to the primary employer. And it doesn't matter if you work for the LA or State or a private company. If you're not working when you should be regardless of home or office, then you are effectively stealing from your employer.

Presumably any second income would push them into higher tax brackets etc :-\
