Title: How Much?
Post by: Mr Skrunts on 17 June 2024, 09:51:25
Is a Pint in your local?

I havent been in a Pub for years so totally out of date. :-\

But speaking to a mate who spent last week in Ireland Golfing mentioned a Pint cost 8 Euros.  So I asked what a Pint costs locally and he said our area was about a fiver.

Then on the News this morning it was mentioned that 80 pubs have been closed each month and 239 have been closed or demolished in the 1st 1/4 of this year. :-\

£5-£6 a pint up here ffs! :o I was staying in Covent Garden a month ago and the prices were much the same as here!
When I lived in London years ago the prices were around double the price they were in Scotland. Don't know what has happened there..greedy bar stewards!! No wonder pubs are closing so fast.  >:( >:(

My little club charges just over £3 a pint. Its run by volunteers, so we only have to add a bit on the cost to cover energy costs, insurance etc. so can sell it cheap.

About £6 a pint here, and in the US of A where I do much of my drinking, $7-9 depending on if it's Happy Hour or not.

People gripe about the prices in the States, but actually they're pretty comparable.

Dublin is one of the most expensive places for a drink that I have been to... $9 a bottle  :o

Be interesting to see if prices have gone up in Gran Canaria next week...

Does anyone remember 3 pints for a quid?

Obviously I'm too young to remember such things. :)

Around a fiver here for common lagers and beers draft, increasing for the wanky local microbrewery shite.

Around a quid more in central Brumingham and central Londonium.

In the 80s you could go out and have a good enough evening to pass out for a fiver.  £20, you could get pissed and take a dolly bird to a Bernie....

Third of a litre ice cold Cruzcampo ( lager) and a free tapas just gone UP to € 1.20 - about £1. at our village bar. Absolutely splendid views from the terrace.

It must be one of the cheapest bars in Spain but it is run by the villagers for the villagers.  ;D

Last November, I paid six quid for guest real beer near Scarborough.

In the 60's I could get a pint of double diamond for two bob (10p). Nine pints and Hollands meat and potato pie on the way home for a quid.

I was 16 in 1970 certainly no shortage of dolly birds in South London then , unlike now when the majority of women are in burkas. All look completely unfu**able anyway couldn't raise a smile to one of those slags let alone a hard on.

Yes, it is the same but technically for legal reasons you have to be a guest of a villager.

Be interesting to see how you react to someone local saying the same about your Misses or daughter whilst you're in Spain :-X
