Wife's Subaru is off to Devon next week her cousin is having it, she has had so much bad luck lately health-wise & the final straw came when her old Mercedes estate was declared as dangerous on its recent MOT, she was in tears on the phone a couple of days ago, so we made the decision to give her the Subaru its just been fully serviced & had new rear wheel bearings and with only 59,000 miles from new should see her out. We purchased a 22 reg Toyota Yaris Cross yesterday one owner with 12,000 miles just hope we can master the technology it comes with . We looked at Motorpoint a couple of weeks ago and had a test drive in the Yaris Cross but they didn't have the colour that she really wanted they valued the Subaru at £1700 which wasn't bad really but in our eyes it was worth more we found the perfect Toyota at Listers in Boston so all worked out We're both glad the Subaru is staying in the family 👍

You know in a woman's eyes, after a week or two, it'll never be a replacement for the Subaru ;D
Seriously, though, hope the Yaris serves her needs :)

She absolutely loved that car but it is 20 years old next March & totally immaculate but at 20mpg around town & 32mpg on a run it's time to get realistic just insured the Yaris from the 7th of August & I was expecting quite a hike because of its value compared to the Subaru but it only went up £98.

Does MPG matter, given its low usage (not that it matters now, as its off to a worthy home)?

The little GR Yaris with the 3 pot turbo lump is supposed to be a great drivers car.

The one we're buying has a "sport mode" and it surprised us both on the test drive it seemed really quick, I tried the little Yaris but banged my head getting in & out the Yaris Cross is quite a bit higher.

What's it cross about? ??? :-\ ::)

Hope her cousin has deep pockets then. ;)
Jokes aside, it's nice when a much loved car can be kept in the family.

Don't think the MPG will worry them much , they've had a Forester before but the timing belt went and wrecked the engine, that put them down one car a1991 Merc estate which simply is not worth repairing to get through the MOT. They're involved with Labrador rescue so must have an estate car, so as well as helping them out we're helping the Lab rescue, apparently breeders are even handing pups over as they can't sell them a lot of rescue centres are full .

That'a a huge hit for breeders, as the normal pup price is around 2.5 grand. :o

We've got our names down at Boxer rescue as we lost our boy 10 weeks ago, we've had 7 in total the last 3 from Boxer rescue the minimum donation is £250 we make a donation every month by direct debit, they had six boxer puppies handed in last week and all were rehomed within 3 days to people who are known to the rescue , we want an adult female between 2-4 years old too old to have a puppy now & would rather take one in than feed the greed of breeders.

Presumably you'll be taking it to/from Spain :-\

The Subaru is now safely in Devon , not far from Barnstaple.
