According to the poll on here before the GE, three OOF members said they were going to vote Labour. I hope they are suitably remorseful.
Can you believe Starmer will bring this in? :(

..and before people start going on about Geoff, remember that he is basically quoting from the Telegraph.

I predict they will be a total disaster of a Govt. in every way. Its even possible they will be worse than the Blair Govt. who imo all but wrecked this country for good.
I have read many many articles in the last couple of weeks about what they are up to and its scary, disgusting and almost smacks of amateurish Marxism from top to bottom..
Guido Fawkes site is a good source for this stuff.

He is quoting Allister Heath, a columnist from the telegraph whose views are his own. Although I guess his piece must have got editorial approval. It's still mostly conjecture.

Can't wait for Rachel Reeves budget. :-X

She hasn't actually said much at all. All the stuff that's being put out by 'treasury officials' is probably to manage expectations.

If I was the Chancellor, I'd bring in a 50% income tax rate for those working from home and a 90% income tax rate for all diversity, equality and inclusion roles. :y

Starmer promised that energy bills would drop buy £400 a year over the next few years if he got elected.
Its just been announced they will rise by 10% in October.
A child rapist has just been spared jail because of overcrowding apparently. In other words, they are leaving child rapists on the streets to make sure the " far right" thugs are put behind bars.
Cooper announced her plans to "smash the gangs" yesterday. It was so pathetic that it got almost no publicity. Even the Labour loving MSM couldnt spin it into something plausible.
I suspect buyers remorse is pretty common in a lot of places already.

I see my cousin who was all Labour this and that on facebook has been very quiet lately!!

Not sure how any mainstream party can get out of the mess. What the lefties can't see is there simply aren't enough rich people to tax any harder, and in a global economy, you can't tax businesses any harder if you want UK jobs.
Obviously, I have the solution of shooting all the spongers and wasters sucking all the taxpayer's hard-earned, but even suggesting that, no matter how tongue-in-cheek, labels me as a far right thug.

"shooting all the spongers and wasters sucking all the taxpayer's hard-earned"
Getting them into gainful employment would be better.
A friends neighbour " totally disabled" mows her own back lawn but has to pay someone to mow the small one out front in case someone saw her. She has a mobility car and basically a pretty perfect life.
Her son when asked why he hasn;t got a job? " Wouldn't be able to get up each day to go to work. Better on benefits."
The 1000 civil servants employed by the last useless government to pfaff about with Rwanda could be used as a task force on benefits scroungers.
I predict within four years the rules on inheritence tax will be changed dramatically.

And the rules on pensions, capital gains tax, and just about everything else that they didnt specifically promise not to raise.
And even those will be fair game once they spin doctors come up with answers as to why they broke promises to the electorate.
Biggest problem is, the Tories are only slightly less worse.

That ship has long sailed.
Only leaves stopping the benefits system - will never happen - or shoot 'em.

Bee in your bonnet you'd like to share, Sir Tig?

Indeed. People who work hard and look after themselves are a problem for Labour. They'll have us all on benefits and beholden to them too once the gouging is complete.

<Looks around> Hmm. guilty as charged. ::)
I'm about to stop this and go the the pub. Would you be happier then, Tigger?

Seen that clip before and you notice how plod said 'I don't want to arrest anyone BEFORE making some enquiries'. What a dumb arse, or is that how it works now. You get arrested first and THEN they start investigating. You couldn't make it up could you. >:(

Yep I'm thousands of pounds out of pocket thanks to oppsing useless work from home solicitors, who took eons to respond to emails (probably because they were too busy doing the allotment/walking the dog/down the pub) and if they did manage to answer the phone invariably claimed that they'd left the file in the office and they weren't going in for a fortnight.
oppsing useless idiotting Lady bitss the oppsing Lady bitsing lot of them! >:(

PACE certainly used to be detained to facilitate a prompt investigation into xyz... :-X
Pretty certain than legislation hasn't changed unless TCV emergency powers are still active.

………….
Well I can confirm 100% that one of them wasn’t me. :y I’ve filled in every petition going to try to get rid of Starmer but I know it’s a fruitless exercise. :(
I get angry just seeing his face, and I punch things when I get angry. I’ve got through 5 iPads and a laptop since he got voted in. ::) ;D

My point was that I believe that their code of practice states that to be arrested, they have to state why they’ve arrested you, and they clearly didn’t know what charge at that point. Detaining him whilst they investigated would have been fine (well not for him obviously ;D ). Detaining and arresting are two separate things, although they both take away your liberty. People who are arrested without being told a valid section can, and do, successfully sue the police for unlawful arrest. The ignorance of the police these days costs the tax payers a small fortune. Can you tell that they’re not on my favourites list. :)

A person who is arrested only needs to be told they are being arrested, the reasons for the arrest, but there is no requirement to inform them of the act and 'section'. If it is quoted, it isn't any detriment, but it not a requirement under PACE.
Just saying....

Well, thats just a lazy, useless solicitor - think most.
For some roles, WFH shouldn't make a jot of difference, though I concede some people think that allows them to walk the dogs, or get the playstation out. That said, this people tend to be equally lazy bastards in the office as well.
