Looking at the mileage on one of the 3.2's now showing at 251,000 miles I was wondering whether the time has come to change to a different grade of oil. This car has had documented oil changes every 3 thousand miles from new, and for the last ten years probably that period has come down to a thousand or a bit less. I'm only asking as a couple of people have suggested using a thicker grade, would appreciate your thoughts TIA

Nah, its had good oil servicing, wear should be good, and those V6's don't wear.
Can't remember what my 3.0 was, around that sort of figure, still used 10w40 semi.

I agree 100%. 10/40 semi is perfect for these majestic beasts👍👍

That's what my 265k ex plod was getting every 10 k :y

Comments much appreciated, dunno why I talk to people who know either nothing or very little about the Omega, ;) :y

Yep, I have used 10/40 semi in all my Omegas - x5 - including my company ones in the 30 years since their introduction, and before that the Carlton's, x3).
My current 3.2, now 21 years old at 87k miles, has has had the same treatment. None of them have ever had any engine wain wear issues with this oil, although I too have ensured yearly oil changes, although my company cars had these on an average of 3 times per year due to my very high mileage.
I am certainly not going to change this practice ;)
