Randy seems a bit of a......'prune' imho ::)
Did he say there was possibly a charging issue? If he did, I must have missed it.... ;D ::) ;D
Fantastic piece of land by his house though - think of the garage that you could possibly have there, unless that unit behind is already his......

It is. The plot is essentially the square formed by the two tree lines and two roads. You don't really see it in this video but the garage is a purpose built workshop set behind the house. Basically a generous two car with a Wildfire 4 post lift in it.

It's not his primary residence though. Think he bought it four/five years ago and had the workshop built a little while after. Say what you will about him, he is a grafter ;)

The Catera isn't as 'pretty' as the Omega in my opinion. Although I like the additional gauges.
I also like his desire to buy older 'forgotten about' and 'interesting' cars.

They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but the differences are superficial. The front fog lights as an example are fitted to the same basic bumper as any Omega. Removed the climate panel, radio and cluster and the dash is physically identical. The only body panel that's different is the boot lid to accommodate the led brake light strip. The rear lights are a bit chavvy, but that's a Cadillac trait.

I love his comment about it being a "small Cadillac"and "tiny" car.  Only an American would size it as that ;D ;D ;D  Mind you, after driving true "American" cars in the USA, like the Ford Crown Victoria we hired in 1990 I know exactly what he means.  Our Omega's are small to them! ;D ;D ;D

Great car though.   :y :y

Some perspective, although he tends to daily drive various flip cars that he particularly likes, his long term vehicle is a 2022 Cummins powered Ram 2500 4x4 double cab pick up. And although the Omega isn't exactly a small car by any measure, it was  definitely mid sized when it was sold.

I had a Mk4 Ford Cortina estate when I lived in Australia, which here in the UK was a fairly big car, but the Aussies often derisibly called it 'Your little car', which compared to the Ford Falcon or Holden Kingswood estates* it was.  :)

* Wagons.  ;)

We don't need huge cars, huge Americans do.  :)

If I lived in America I'd have a huge car and would probably quickly become a huge Englishman to fit!  ;D

Back in the late seventies there was a disabled guy who lived local to us don't know what he did for a living but " looked wealthy" he drove a Cadillac Eldorado  the bonnet looked like planes could take off from it , seemed massive parked next to Vauxhall Chevttes & Morris 1100s, quite a few American motors in South London back then.

The other day I had the pleasure of seeing a 'sit up and beg' Ford Prefect going along on a busy Kent road.  My goodness, didn't it seem small!  All the SUV's, 4x4 's, etc that passed it certainly amplified it tiny proportions, and my Omega certainly seemed very large! ;D ;D ;D

It is so easy to forget how tiny most British cars once were in the past.  The cars of the 40's and 50's certainly were tiny, and I will always remember my first car ride in an 1958 Austin A30 for it's child like size. It appeared to be little bigger than me, a 5 year old! :o ;D ;D ;D
