I have a solomatic A frame to tow other cars...one of the straps has worn away and is close to breaking...any ideas where I can get a replacement?? TIA...

Chris, have a look on FleaBay for item number 270274517605. At £3.00 each you can't go wrong, just cut them as long as you need and singe the end to stop fraying :y

Right sort of thing mate but wrong type of 'hook'
The one on the current straps is like a figure 8 but with the centre cut out and the etal is about a half inch thick...the chain hooks into the smaller top end...not sure the hook on these would be strong enough tbh

They are 1500kg straps but if you want stronger there are some 5000kg straps here (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/4x-4-5mtr-recovery-ratchet-replacement-straps-Trailer_W0QQitemZ200255067528QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item200255067528&_trkparms=72%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14). Other option is to find your local truck and trailer parts supplier and ask them.

Not the strap thats the problem...just the hook on the end is wrong...but thanks :)

I think i know the one you mean - but can't think of anywhere obvious.
There are a few companies who make them - will one of them not sell spare straps? a 2" strap is a 2" strap, irrespective of what a-frame it fits.
Alternative is try and find somewhere who does curtain-side repairs - maybe they could stitch a new strap onto your "eye"? ISTR they have to with curtain side straps...

Try googling InterTrade as they are the main suppliers of the 25 and 35 models or your local truck spares/accessory place.
