Not used the car since Aug when I tested it. :-[

Couple of issues radio in safe mode,  I forgot how to reset, just looked it up I forgot the bit of powering the radio holding the AS button.

The odd one was the fan stopped working.  I have had odd random issues starting from a dead battery in the past , like dead dash dials, then active and dead again,  Really odd but when charged and car restarted no more issues.

This fan problem,  I can hear all the vents open and close depending choice.  But the fan speed lights work, but no fan active.

I know things like sunroof and windows can be reset with a procedure, but before investigating it deeper, is there a reset procedure for the fan controller. looked through the maintenance guides maybe I missed a guide.

Any advice or is it a failed fan motor?

Reaching through the pollen filter housing, you can get fingers on the fan.

Does it spin freely? If yes, then the motor is unlikely to be an issue. If no then you can soak the spindle without tools or removing anything from above. WD40/3in1 oil etc ideal for this. Once applied work the fan by hand.

The hedgehog resistor is a common failure point. It is unusual for the fan to fail completely, but not unheard of.

It's replaced as per the guide from the footwell.

Any evidence of water of leaves etc within the fan casing and you have more pressing issues to address before fixing anything.

There is no reset for the blower fan.

As DG says, as its been sat, could be fan has semi-seized, or the speed controller (hedgehog) has failed.

After checking/freeing fan, I have a feeling it has its own fuse, which could pop if the fan had seized.  Double check wiring diagram :)

If a fuse had popped, would it shut down just the fan or the heating/vent system as a whole.?

They're separate circuits.

Iirc the cabin fan is a maxi fuse under the steering column.

Been out today, while sat having the car wased decided to try it and all working fine again. :y
