Title: Cam Cover Goo
Post by: tunnie on 13 February 2025, 11:27:09
In the garage I still have an unopened tube of the black goo for cam covers, I bought it for my old 3.2 Omega.

I need to do the cam cover on the Zafira soon, guides mention putting a blob of goo near the chain area of the cover, where the block goes bigger for the chain. (top/bottom)

Can I use this? Assuming this would still be suitable.  :-\

Old moisture cure silicone can either go hard or looks fine but won't set.  Easy to test the latter just squeeze a bit out and wait.   If it flows and sets I can't see why it wouldn't be fine for the Zafira.

If it has an expiry date, the further you get from that date the less viable it will be, even if it flows.

It's a Zafira Tunnie. You could probably get away with using white bathroom goo!  ;D
