He's probably got a lot on his mind on the eve of his op. Doesn't stop him from being in our thoughts :y

Yes let’s hope he’s just being his usual horrible self and he’s not under the knife just yet 😀

"I had an appointment at Romford hospital today.
84 mile round trip for a five minute appointment. Blood pressure, blood tests and MRSA test prior to being admitted next Weds to have my head fixed.
Might wake up speaking Swahili but will cross that bridge if I come to it.  :)
Going to have platinum in my head, so a bit worried about swmbo trying to pull it out through my ear while Im asleep.  ;D

They fill the Aneurysum with tiny little Platinum coils, and then maybe fit a stent to bypass it as well.  ;)"

I wonder if he'll be able to tune into Radio 2 with those platinum coils?  ???   ;D

Hope it's all going well for him!  :y

Someone called ?  :D

Went down to Romford Tues night and stayed in a Travelodge rather than get up in the middle of the night to be at the hospital for 0730.
As expected I could have turned up at the Hospital at noon and it wouldnt have made any difference, but thats Hospitals for you.
Didnt take the laptop, so been offline until just now.
Swmbo was able to stay in the Travelodge a second night while I was in Hospital overnight last night.
The op involved inserting a tube type thing into the artery in my groin (same as they do for heart stents) which then went up to my brain stem where the Aneurysm is.
Then filled the Aneurysm with tiny Platinum coils to stop it filling with blood, pressurising and bursting.
Ive been nagging them to send me home since 8am, but finally got discharged at 2.30.
Doc said he would sign me off work for 6 weeks. I told him to stop talking silly, Im back in work next Friday, so he did as he was told.  ;D

Edited to add - while I was asleep I had a Catheter fitted. Christ that was horrible. I kicked off and made them take it out as soon as I was properly awake.Hurt like hell as it came out and the first couple of times I pee,d it was like p1ssing glass.  :o

You are now living in the world of 'proper old people stuff' ::)

Seriously though, I'm glad you are feeling more chipper. :y

On 75mg of Aspirin a day (on top of my BP meds) for six weeks. Then go a for a scan to check all is well in six months time.
Hopefully its job jobbed now.
A bloke I worked with until he retired a while back had an Aneurysm burst which almost killed him over 20 years ago.
He had the same procedure that I just had and he is still going strong, so hopefully Im sorted now.
Will always worry a little I suppose when I feel a headache coming on, but such is life.
Got to take it easy for the next week - no lifting anything heavy etc. as the wound in the Artery is filled with a little rubber bung which should drop out of its own accord.
If it comes out too early it will be a Claret fountain. Also have to apply pressure on it with my hand if coughing, sneezing or straining on the loo.  ::)
Its no fun getting old.  ;D

Swmbo has taken charge (to the extent she can). Strict orders to take it easy as she doesnt want to have to try and deal with a leaking femoral artery.
No particular plans for car work until the sun puts his hat. Maybe in a months time if were lucky.Even then it depends on energy levels and motivation.
Will more than likely flog the Boxster in the next few months without doing most of the stuff I had planned to do to it.
Omega is in pretty good health at the minute, and the little Japanese thing with F****h badges just keeps going.
Will amuse myself with the little Tortoise when it comes out of the fridge tomorrow.  :)

Glad it went well, if you've been told to rest then do it absolutely no point in pushing yourself, let everything  " mend " properly.

Thanks. Im planning on being sensible for a while as the thought of a burst Femoral artery is pretty scary.  :y
I imagine it wouldnt take too long to bleed to death if that happened.
Living where we do, two hours for an Ambulance is considered pretty quick these days.  ::)

All the very best, and learn to just do what you can, no more, no less :-* :-*.

None of us can ignore health issues, so just enjoy every day as best you can, being grateful that you wake up in the morning!  Take the meds, and keep breathing!  That is what I have learnt to do, along with accepting the age you are, not what one part of your brain is telling you want to be! ;D ;D
