Title: Belt Kit & Antifreeze question.
Post by: Dave G on 17 October 2025, 14:51:37
Hi, does anyone see any issues if I buy a new cambelt kit now to fit in 3 or so years time? Pump too. I just want to have them ready when the time comes - and it will be time, not mileage - maybe less than10k. I ask because AutoDoc are doing a good price right now. £167 now vs £210 6 months ago. Contitech CT990K2.

Also, trying to find GM 93165162 (or GM6277M?) antifreeze is getting harder. What do you guys use in your Omegas?

Kits probably sit around on shelves for years, so I wouldnt worry about buying a kit and storing it.
I use whichever pink coolant I come across in Halfords etc. when I need it.

I want to say G40 for the coolant, but double check the specs ;)

Thanks guys. Parts ordered.

Did get a rather sideways remark from herself just now, to the effect that “so you think the car will last that long, but what about you”

Looks like it’s beer time…
