All that will happen is majority of high mileage users will seek odometer corrections :-X
-
Which means that if it's only £250, then they are still being £350 in pocket compared with ICE drivers,
-
Quite right too! :y
I don't see why these smug greenies should swan about for nothing. ;D

20,000 miles per annum will cost you £600

Who's going to admit to doing 20,000 miles though if it's down to the drivers to estimate their mileage? ???
The Government will soon discover that most EV's are just runabouts doing two or three thousand miles a year. ::) ;D

I'm pretty sure it won't take them long to figure it out. But it's something that will never affect me. :)

They can monitor "Genuine" mileage through the MOT.
Down side means they wont know the details for the 1st 3 years. So they will simply just relay on drivers honestly. ::)

They've got until 2028 to figure out a way to ensure honesty doesn't come into it.

I suspect that this what will happen at some point. Shortly after your MOT you'll get your tax bill in the post. ::)
Or more likely the tax you owe will pop up on your Digital Starmercard ID account and the cash will be taken automatically from your bank account. No ifs. No buts.
And if you haven't got the cash in your bank your EV will be remotely disabled until you can pony up, along with a deposit for next year. Plus interest of course. ::)
