Title: Black Friday
Post by: Migalot on 13 November 2025, 21:10:08
Am I alone in disliking the way US fads are adopted over here?

Maybe I am too traditional, but I like the old ways — like Boxing Day sales and the like. But WTF is Black Friday in our British culture? Does anyone know?

My email inbox is jammed full of Black Friday offers. Grrrr!

British consumers love it. Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Amazon Prime day......except they all last for a week, not a day.

Faulks? ¿What’s that ? American English auto correct.?

Saw a shop ( FNAC) today with 50% off during pre Black Friday month. (More English words entering everyday use in Spain) My first thought was they must be going bust. Wouldn’t surprise me as it is a book shop!
