Title: No income tax rise after all

They are really struggling to get any kind of coherent financial policy implemented. Starmer just keeps backing down, for fear of his back benchers, Downing Street plotters and the public in general. I read a phrase yesterday, 'In government but not in power'. Sums it up nicely.

Well, she could cancel that rather pointless £100bn railway between almost Birmingham centre and Wormwood Scrubs....

...but the northern mayors would pressure Starmer to u turn on that as well....

You can see the identity politics at work in the Labour party.

We are too late to have the first female party leader, or PM. But the Conservative party has never had a female chancellor.

Rachel is crap, but she is a woman, so that is another diversity and inclusion box ticked. >:D
