Title: Opel omega 2.2 DTI, turbo problems
Post by: prati on 21 November 2025, 19:30:18
Hello, i have a 2003 omega 2.2dti and i have a weird issue with my turbo. Car works fine when the engine is cold but right when it start to get warm the turbo like dissappears but it comes back when i hold the acclerator for about 5-10 seconds. Also when i have my igniton turned to the thrid posistion for some time, when i start the car it dies right away and then when i start it back up it works fine. Also the turbo works fine when i start the car and drive off right away but as soon as my rpms drop the turbo dissappears again. When the turbo isnt working i can hear it spool but its like the engine is not accepting boost into it self.At first it did it with the cold engine aswell but after replacing the egr solenoid then it started working with the engine being cold. My question is what and how to check and the location of the parts.

Also another thing is that when the turbo is “gone” the car wont rev up as good. And i have 2 fault codes: P0400-5 and P1590-8

I replaced that part today and it cured the code p1590 :Cool2:
while i was at it i put a new battery on first as i thought i could do with a new one,so i read the codes and it was still there so the battery made no difference, then i put this new valve on and read the codes and its all clear now  :D

Excellent news and well done.

Do you have the part no for the solenoid by any chance please? Also, did you get it from a main dealer or factor?

Oh and what running problems were you getting?
part number is 24435269
23 VALVE,TURBOCHARGER BOOST PRESSURE

I got it from the main dealers, its £38,and the car used to sometimes just go into limp mode for no reason, and turning the ignition off and on again would fix it,i don't know if this problem was connected to this valve or not though, only time will
