He really is totally insane 👍

It really is quite frightening.
He isn’t a statesman. More a business yob.

He's no different from Putin, he wants to be an all powerful dictator.
-
He is a Narcissist. They have to make everything about themselves.
They dont even know they do it because they have little if any self awareness.
-
I think he's been assassinated and replaced with a Chinese humanoid robot, but Xi's operatives over did the Trumpyisms. ;D
Other than that he's just a fickin t.wat. ::)

But still the best option from what was available. :)

A corpse or a nutter, some choice :(

The corpse was pulled from the contest and replaced with a rampant socialist. :)

Oh yes, I forgot about her. Easy done ;D

Trump today
“ Russia wants to see Ukraine succeed”.
He is wasted on the world stage. A gulag would be better along with dissident billionaires.

That could have easily been misconstrued from "Russia wants (its) Ukraine (plans to) succeed..."
Or the media have quoted words from a speech and formed a statement. After all it's not as though they've never done that to make our Donald say something stupid.
Besides, when they broadcast these things, they will happily show his statement but never the question that prompted it making it incredibly easy to misrepresent anything he says.

Sort of fake news.

Yep. Fake noos combined with Trump derangement syndrome ;D

Funny how it's normal behaviour when it applies anywhere else, but as soon as Donald is mentioned it becomes Trump Derangement Syndrome ;D
The consensus seems to be that it's ok to covertly break into Osama Bin Laden's house and shoot him in the face, but you can't overtly arrest a former dictator and extradite them to face trial.
I wonder if the US strategy is actually quite clever, if somewhat left field...
By making Venezuela a criminal state, it allows for some form of sanction or punishment to be imposed. Much like invading Iraq.Twice. The unspoken motivation is obviously energy control rather than drug trafficking, and in a world where China has effective control over everything else, is it really such a surprise?
Greenland is a very different proposition as it's purely a strategic defence concept and is effectively a barren wasteland that's being used for subsistence farming and military development testing. Transferring it from Denmark to the US would save Denmark a fair amount of cash without upsetting the status quo within NATO, yet the media seems hell bent on the mere suggestion becoming a declaration of war.

You do talk absolute shite sometimes. Trump derangement syndrome in reverse.

Its quite simple really.
If the population of Greenland vote in favour of becoming a part of the U.S. (or a colony of it) then fine.
If the U.S. take it over without their consent, then they are bo different from Putin or any other despot who captures a country by force.

Like Iraq or Libya or Afghanistan... Just saying :-X

But they werent invaded then conquered for keeps.
They were just very stupid wars started by very stupid men.
Thee couldnt be any possible moral justification for Trump annexing Greenland.
A strategic one, maybe. But not a moral one.
Even if it was purely a strategic one, it would be proof positive that he doesnt recognise Nato at all.

Would a simple transfer of control really constitute a moral issue?

It would constitute a moral issue if the present occupants didn't want to transfer control. Ask any Ukrainian.
Transfer of control......funny way to describe an invasion.

There are plenty of Russian-speaking Ukrainians who would welcome a transfer of control. Especially those Orthodox Christians who have been banned from their Church or want to speak in their mother tongue and have their children likewise educated. Also relatives of the 16000 killed by the Ukrainian bombs, or who died when that building in Odessa was torched. Remember that Zelensky's presidential manifesto was good relations with Russia. Funny how he forgot that when he was elected.
As far as Trump is concerned, he seems to take fun in ignoring the US Constitution.
...and Greenland was discovered by Denmark before the US even existed!
-
It is time Europe grew a pair and stood up to Trump over Greenland.
Problem is that really means the EU and they have a good track record of faffing about making decisions that they then all abide by. If Trump invades Greenland it is a done deal. Who exactly would make them leave?
We are at a critical point in the security of Europe path. NATO would implode.

It's only an invasion if someone invades. Wouldn't be any different if Denmark signed it over to France or Canada. And if you ask the locals, they'd be quite happy being independent. Ironically that would leave them incredibly vulnerable, especially as there's probably more US military personnel in Greenland than Danish.
If Ol' Sippy Cup or Obama had suggested any of the things Trump has said or done, the coverage would be "That's an interesting idea..."
Not saying I support some of the things going on, just that the coverage and spin is designed to anger and cause outrage just because Trump is POTUS.
And regardless of whether you or I agree with his policies or not, he has thus far done EVERYTHING he said he would... Not just in this term but also the previous one which constitutes some sort of a record in politics.
-
he has thus far done EVERYTHING he said he would...
Except, "no new wars"... ::)

Which new war exactly?

Greenland has a population of around 56,000, mostly Eskimo. There is no army.
Trump doesn't need to invade.
I believe there is a small US military base there.
He can simply walk in and have a nice cup of tea.
The question is what would assorted European countries do if he did this?

Size of population is irrelevant. Its the principle of self determination that matters.
It has been the bedrock of governance of the free world for a long time, and why the UK sent its forces to take back the Falklands, for example.
If the U.S. throws that in the bin it becomes another rogue state like Russia, Iran, Libya etc. etc.

We can always hope the Donald loses his majority in both houses in the mid terms.

Problem is, that then means the U.S. will probably be run by Socialists.
There is no easy answer. :(

Data from the Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project (ACLED) indicates US forces have executed or partnered in 622 air and drone strikes across seven countries in 2025. Oh and that's just 2025. Add Venezuela now.

There are several VERY large US bases there.
The question is what would assorted European countries do if he did this?
The most convincing thing european countries could do is for Spain, France and Hungary to deny US military overflight and landing permissions. If they did that there would be no way for the US to support their 'friends' is Israel, Saudi or further east by air. The highest priority stuff could still get there using air to air tankers via the Gibraltar gap, but it gets difficult, and expensive very quickly if the tankers can't take off, land or overfly France or Spain. France already has a reputation for being a bit 'fussy' with diplomatic clearances for mil aircraft.

Just to add my two-ha’perth. All my late mother’s relatives moved to the US donkeys years ago. California and Arizona.
When Trump first got in I sent a note to one of my cousins in which I said (quote) “what the hell are you people thinking of? The bloke’s an absolute cretin”
Needless to say, I never got a reply or any other communication ever again!! History will decide if I was right.
Maybe just my puerile sense of humour, but don’t they realise that ‘Trump’ is a Fart…??

Cretin seems to be the only qualification required now to be a world leader, the human race seems to have learnt very little from what's taken place over the years, I think Apes are more intelligent than " these cretins"

Strategic strikes do not a war make. By comparison, how many have the UK and other NATO members been involved in?
I can think of at least five for the UK alone... Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Gaza and Ukraine.
One might argue that Venezuela is just another sub note in the "war on drugs" started by Reagan...

I agree that lobbing bombs does not constitute a war, per se, but it's a moot point. Once civilians die as a result of such bombs, it might just as well be called a war.
Also, for Venezuela, it's nothing to do with drugs. Most of the Fentanyl gets to the US from Mexico. Venezuela does not supply – though it may be argued that some drug transit takes place. Either way, the "narco-terrorist" claims are red herrings. The war-hawks need a story, even if it doesn't stand up to any meaningful scrutiny.

In the same way that the first Gulf War wasn't actually about the sovereignty of Kuwait. ;)

I wonder if Donald would consider taking up residence in Downing Street for a few months. Kick out all the illegals, blow up all the boats crossing the channel, calling them invaders or something. Get all the lazy bastards who refuse to work off their arses by stopping their benefits. Lots more please, Donald.

I don't know why, but that reminded me of a Welsh mate when I lived in Australia. His favourite chat up line with Aussie birds was to inquire whether they had any British ancestry. If they said yes, he'd say Lovely... Have you got any Welsh in you? Would you like some? ;D
It worked now and again as well! :y ;D

Well if he promised that i would vote for him… as to be fair he does follow through with what he says…. Perhaps he could come over do that then Fark off👍

I read today that he is pulling the States out of around 80 organisations and protocols that he considers "woke" and anti American.
-
And most of them he removed the US from during his first term, but Sippy Cup rejoined... So not exactly new news ;)

Still good news though🤓
