Title: Electric Motorcycling
Post by: Sir Tigger KC on 07 February 2026, 10:50:12
Honda are selling an electric motorbike the WN7 and they say it's 50kw max power power plant "produces power on par with a 600cc internal combustion engine, while generating 100Nm of torque - comparable to a 1000cc motorcycle." Sounds good.  :y

It has less than a 100 mile range though...  :-\  Although it's claimed it will charge from 20% to 80% in 30 minutes, which I suppose is OK if your favourite ride out lunch time pub has a charger.  :)

At £12,999 it seems like an expensive toy, so maybe it's one for Lord Opti now he's an evangelical convert to EV's?   :P  ;)

What does it weigh.

If the same as a pregnant hippo then it is not worth the effort.

Ah.....217KG. A bit more than a 1000cc sports bike.....but not overly lardy.

Top speed 80MPH, or about the same as the Trotters plastic pig. 8)

Oh... Didn't spot that.  ::)   More than enough for the twisties though.  :)

But for about £4000 less you can buy a new CB1000 Hornet.  A proper bike.  :y

155 BHP for the Hornet SP. Not bad for a naked bike. :)

Seen a few of these about locally....

But still not sure on the use case, for cars there is a huge cost benefit in fuel. Bikes were and always still are cheap on fuel, plus even more of a case the noise/character makes a choice for puchase.

These definitely look like they would be ridden by people who work in micro pubs, have top knots and use beard oil.

Very Shoreditch  ;)

If it's an oily and smelly ride you're after, Ron, I could always introduce you to big Sadie.
