Title: Rear air shocks
Post by: annihilator on 06 March 2026, 16:06:38
Not an omega but a Carlton estate with rear air suspension
The nsr shock is fully extended and is rock solid stuck in this position. Have removed it and it will not budge is it knackered?

Yup ;( . The fluid part has failed internally.

The air bladder doesn't have a valve in it... The pressure is regulated by a relief valve on the pump.

this certainly sounds internal .never seen this before .
also if if is internal then the air bladder should be soft and squashy .if its rock hard then its the air inlet that is blocked .very unlikely i know but easy enough to see .

Put it in a vice, connect a compressed air line, and see how far you can shoot the piston.

Didn't the rear air suspension on a Carlton estate just have a schrader valve in the boot area of the car  :-\

Perhaps, presumed it's the same set up as the Omega :-\

That said, if it's off the car, the Schrader valve won't be holding much air in the system ;D

yes similar idea to the omega .springs are softer but finding std springs shouldnt be an issue
