As the heading suggests I want to upgrade Info Display on my 01 Omega to the colour info display. The current head unit is Philips CCR2006 with BOSE. What do I need to change to get the colour info display to function properly? Hoping someone has done this to a facelift Omega in the past and can give guidance.
Thanks in advance,
James.

Think there's some sort of guide... :-\
Otherwise it's simply a question of reading a wiring diagram and some time and patience.
For the full CID experience you're going to need an NCDC head unit but be mindful the unit from the Vectra C is of zero use to you

Check if you have the RGB cable strapped behind the display. If you have, and yours is an Elite, then from memory, it's a near straight swap with just a link wire needed. If you haven't, the RGB cable needs adding, which means studying the wiring diagram.
(RGB cable only needed for Nav Map view)
As DG says, the display will only work when paired with a NCDC 2000 series or NCDR 1000 series. The 2 have to be paired together via a Tech2 or similar. If using donor parts, they either have to be in a depaired state then paired together, or come from the same donor (ie, already paired). It is not possible to depair any of the paired components unless they are all present when attempting to depair. The pairing code entered when paired is also needed.
If you attempt to use the CID alongside the CCR2006, it will "work" (ish) but pop up a security message every few seconds.
A correction to what DG says, *any* NCDC 2000 series will work, even from a Vectra-C/Signum, but the CID MUST be from an Omega or Astra-G

The Vectra unit has a different plug set ;)

The NCDC unit is identical. It was only fitted for about 2-3 years when the Vec-C got a minor facelift and the "double digit" range of headhunts (with the CD70 being the replacement for the NCDC on the posher Vectras.

The difference, iirc, boils down to the CanBus that the Vectra C used that the Omega didn't have, hence the differences in the wiring.

Which is what causes the (almost identical looking) CID to be different hardware. The NCDC/NCDR series all have a CAN bus :y

Thanks for replies chaps. Was hoping I could use original radio. Should have done my homework before acquiring colour info display on its own. My machine is Executive model. 1 below Elite. No RGB cable present. Does RGB cable run from back of stereo to display? Have the option of stereo and loom from car display taken from. Just need to know what section of loom to ask for. Must also double check donor car was bose equipped.
