Got myself a tidy little mk3 golf 1.9  diesel this week, it's not got a turbo but goes like the clappers,1994 , 128K 1 years mot, 5 door, twin airbags , only done 17K in the last 6 years, up to 55MPG, a steal at £400 :)

Probably a good thing, the GTD's blow head gaskets constantly, then the head warps and off to the recyclers it goes.

Lol, certianly I would never describe the old un-blown Golfs as going like the clappers!

A word of advice, once the clutch starts to fail (and at that mileage its about due), weigh it in!

Well if youv'e just spent the last 10 months driving a diesel trafic van anything would seem to go like the clappers!

why scrap a car cause it needs a clutch??

Yes I understand, but mines a 1994 so don't think it's got a DMF, the later higher output TDIs had them see above link :)
