I am also putting it in cars for sale, but thought I may get a better response here.
Regular forum members will know that Mr Dusty bought me a Jaguar 3.0 SE X-Type Auto (when I asked for a small hatchback)
It's a lovely car but I perfer the Miggy, so it is for sale
(http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/5/9/9/8/5/6/webimg/168082620_o.jpg)
Very briefly, it's 2001 on a 51 plate, and I want just a little over £3100 or near offer.
For more information please PM me, or ask away on the forum.
Sad to see it go, but times are hard.
I would be happy to take out any genuine members for a test drive. :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

But of course you are..as genuine as your beard :D :-* :-* Seriously though it is a nice car to be had for very little money. :-* :-*
-
Thank an unknown admin for the beard -- I have a real one here ;)
Seriously -- yes, a lot of car for the money. Here am I about to blow a little over 2 grand on a buggy and for an extra few quid ( OK quite a few!) could be driving in the jag -- tempting in the extreme.

It's in an excellent tidy condition. With a couple of small dents as would be expected on a car of this age. Some stone chips to the front. The leather interior is in excellent condition, with a slight patina to the drivers seat. All electrics work, especially the heated front seats for those cold winter mornings. Mmmm toasty.
Overall the car gives a lovely cosseted feel, with the excellent seats and great 6 x CD changer, made by Alpine.

It is certainly a great looking car Dusty that could tempt me if I had the readies!! :y :y
-
That is beautiful looking car and a credit to you. Shame I can't raise the cash wife wants me to fit a new kitchen. She wins as a divorce would be a lot more expensive. ;D ;D

Come and join the Shaguar club...... you know you want to..... ;D ;D ;D

very nice, and those alloys are not on the SE as standard, there an optional extra from Jaguar - and expensive!! :y

I like the look of the car and fancy a 4 wheel drive, but somehow the interior looks smaller than the Miggy which would be no good for me. :-/

they are smaller inside..
-
Thing I dont like is the way they have implimented the 4 wheel drive setup by taking a front wheel drive box and bolting a transfer box onto the side of it.
Seen that dont to many times and each time the outcome has been the same!

Thought so, they look a narrower car thn the Miggy.
Saw an X type and S type for sale when I took my mate to collect his Peugot
Looking at the the S type from the outside it looked a lot wider so am thinking the inside may be bigger, down side is I dont think they do it as a 4 wheel drive.

sounds about right.....Jag X is slightly bigger than Mondy or Vectra in and outside, its not Jag XJ sized, S Type, Omega sized inside or out.
Rear leg room is poor, boot is apparently class leading though - dont know i only have a map in mine.
Switch the sports mode on in the 3.0 and floor it out a wet juction and :) :) :) :) :)
Got to be honest Dustys price represents a lot of car for the money :y

Dusty's car sounds quite good money, sadly the car my be too small for me.
As the the sport mode on your 3.o in the wet. Get the the same effect from both of mine, plenty even in the dry leaving a right hander as well. ::) ::) ::) ::)

I didnt write that quite right - Dustys ( the 3.0) will have phenomenal acceleration and the confidence gained kowing in the wet that there will be no uder/ oversteer / wheel spin / TC blips or 360 degrees is awesome.

Got ya, had lost focus regards the 4 wheel drive, totally my fault, not been to bed yet. ;D ;D ;D ;D :-/

It would fit nicely in your garage Lizzie between your Ferrari 599 and your Zonda ...........and your miggy of course. ;D ;D :-* :-*

4 x 4? So is that model, obviously. Looking at Dusty's, I'd say hers is more like the price I've highlighted.
-
When they 1st came out I thought X type meant 4 wheel drive (4x4) but when I checked thier web site they only showed one 4 wheel drive model.
Private Good £4,745
Private Poor £3,470
So based on the price you highlight I would say Dusty's is quite a bargain, and if your post reflects the normal 2 wheel drive then the bargain get's better.
If they had bigger interiors I would have had it myself.

I was originally hoping for about £4000, but with the credit crunch I have dropped it significantly.
So come on all you wealthy OOFers, one of you must genuinely want it :-* :-* :-*
