Last pic this engine developed 1300 BHP from 80Lb Boost with 4 Cylinders

I just love the engineering that goes into to and of the F1 cars, past or present.

Those were the days. When F1 teams could experiment and innovate. Now they just advertise.  :(

it won one GP i think - the advantage was reduced drag because of the smaller wheels

Almost brought a tear to the eye.memories of the good old days, before big business and talent levelling electronics invaded motorsport.
I had a guided tour of the station works Shepreth in 1980. Every DTV car came out of there, its hard to believe now that a workshop in a redundant old railway station built up the reputation and motorsport heritage that vx has had since the 70,s. Bill Blydenstien was an old fashioned engineering genius.

I started work in 77 and worked Saturday mornings and used to rush home the record the rallying  World of Sport.

Got quite a few videos of big horse poser days of the Quatro, Lancia Rally, 6r4, Ascona 400, Chevette HS/HSR, TRV8 , Lotus Sunbeam and even a BMW M1SE

Those were the motorsport days I enjoyed the most.  Still have the tapes, sadly one of them is stuck in a Dead VHS machine, but I am adamant the tape is comeing out in one piece. :-/
