Title: Oops!  Never gonna live this down!
Post by: SheWhoMustNotBeOUTBID on 21 September 2008, 21:05:40
Ok, we've more or less finished breaking our first Omega so I was casually looking thru ebay again to see if there were any other candidates for a new project.  Jue was asleep on the sofa (don't think he'll ever do that again lol).

I saw a star silver 2.5L, ignition problem but new tyres, new exhaust so worse comes to worse and u gotta break, could have been worthwhile.  Tried to ask Jue about it but he was firmly in land of nod (its all his fault really) so put it into my ebay sniping software and forgot about it completely.

Then saw another star silver omega, but an estate TD, bargain price, possible HG failure (dealt with that before, no problem).  Put that in baygenie (just so I'd remember to ask Jue about them when he woke up).

Then a third candidate, 1995 3.0L elite, red (familiar territory and I just love red lol) came up.  Put that in baygenie as well.

Now, neither of us have slept more than a couple of hours a nite in last two weeks cause of cough cold thing.., coughing all nite so brain is a bit more swiss cheesey even than normal.

Discussed cars with Jue late morning, put a sniping bid in on the red car and he phoned the owner of the estate later on in the day.  Things got fairly exciting for both of us as the price the guy asked for for the estate was rather good.  I forgot about the other auction.

We paid for the estate (the phrase pay it before he comes to his senses comes to mind).  And erm, just as we were sorting out collection details hotmail let me know I'd won an auction.., for a red Omega.

Oops.  Major quandry as to how on earth we pay for two cars when we only had enuf for one.., can't believe I didn't turn off the bidding process but there u go. Its done.  Sorted out the finances and tonite I finally screwed up the will to pay for it thru ebay.

And froze.

I'd forgotten I'd actually done the same thing for the first car (swiss cheese brain and all that) and erm guess what, I'd won that one too. I did stop having a heart attack after about an hour.., sort of.

Jue hasn't divorced me, god knows why (probably cause we not married lol).  My sniping software is most definitely turned off and mmh, well I don't think I am EVER gonna live this down.

Am I the only person in the world to have ever done something as daft as this?  Expecting the men in white coats to march thru the door any minute, either to cart me off or Jue for laughing at my antics lol.

Naw that's dirty work lol, I'm just real good at writing the copy to sell them on ebay lol.   That way jue can do what he's good at and I can do what I'm good at!

Naw I have given Jue a little help but not much as yet, not easy with two year old running into the road every time I turn my back unfortunately.., mmh, maybe Jue can tie him to the kitchen sink instead of me lol.

Yep, remember them, the first ones, in thsi country, had 3 seats, side by side, in the front, no back seats, and left hand drive only.
I liked the Rabcho, had one for a couple of years, loads of space, well ahead of it's time but only ever front wheel drive. A Simca van really.

I always try to be supportive in my other half's interests lol.  Don't think either of us realised quite how supportive lol.  And don't worry, we've got it covered - no price rises in badges lol. Probably won't eat this week but the badges are safe :P

Things might not be too bad.

First thing you could do is open a school for demos of Omega repairs e.g.
- change DIS pack
- oil cooler change
with discount to OOFers. :y soon get the money back

Second thing is if you are strapped for space I will "store" them for you ( I'll have the red elite first). ;D

Ok just back from Lutterworth, When to pick up Miggy number 2 of the 3 she won. Non starting due to immobilizer locked on.

Put the key in and all the lights came up dimly, Ok swap batteries
Spare ECU / Transponder / Chip at the ready

New battery, turn the key........ and shall we drive it home.
Fred117 says it drives like a dream so swmnbo is gonna go give it a wash and polish.

May need 1 on the MV doors but hey.. It's Star Silver.  ;D ;D ;D ;D
