Title: Need a favour - someone with Auto mini-facelift
Post by: TheBoy on 10 December 2006, 19:56:14
I'm after a 2nd opinion.

When I updated my autobox software, I felt a huge improvement.

The first person with a flashable gearbox who PM's me will get their autobox software updated for free.

In return, I would request they do a review of the difference in how the gearbox is improved (or not)...

It would appear that flashable autobox came in with mini facelift (MY 98), though cannot confirm, so possibility I cannot do...

Had a couple of PMs with valid points - to make it fair, all names will go in a hat, and I'll pick one out at random in a few days - thats gives everyone a fair chance :)

Please include year, and whether mini facelift or facelift.

I will also honour my original request, and update yours Markjay :y

As said, for fairness, gonna pull name from hat in a day or 2....   ...if you have 98 on, it may be flashable...

As I said mines too old, early 97 so won't be flashable :(

Is the updating software a quick job? Where can I get it done, how much does it cost and is it worth doing

As I was in VX garage today to get my airbag light sorted (it was the seatbelt pretensioners) I got them to check my Auto software and it was 2 versions out of date so they sorted that for me. Will see how it goes later but didn't notice any difference on the 3 miles drive home through town.

mine was 4 versions out of date, so upgrade really worthwhile for me...
