Hi all
Had the shed serviced today. Mechanic wasnt impressed with all the rust nd general condition but hey
it cost £205 all together including an alternator drive belt
anyways this was a full service and i want to know what they will have done and how much it costs a a vaux garage
I didnt think to ask at the time
Also my shed needs a new tyre and new rear shocks. I decided to get it done rather than sell on and buy a diferent car since its worth nothing whatever condition it mayaswell live for another year. Did i make the right choice? i know the tyre will be about £100 but cant remember what he said for the shocks
Funnily enough all the things he wanted to do totalled at £500. Tough, i am not having rust fixed as i think its a losing battle

Vx Service Schedule for petrol vehicles comprises of a 'small' service and 'big' service, in alternating years.
'small' service includes an oil and filter change, plus various checks and inspections (leaks, fluids level, discs & pads, etc).
'big' service also includes air filter, fuel filter, and pollen filter. Though they sometimes skip the latter for reasons known only to them...
Not 100% sure about costs, but from memory is was around £150 for the 'small' service and double that for the 'big' one.
In addition, the brake fluid should be changed every two years regardless of mileage, and same for the coolant (unless newer 'red' type). Both are extra costs. However, in the 10 years I had my Omegas services at Vx, not once did they offer either. You have to prise it out of them, strangely the never offered me these services on their own accord in spite of the fact that this is part of Vx service schedule and they would make money if I took them up on it... strange, that.
