Ive only reversed a trailer 2-3 times, so very new to it... Never been shown how to do it properly etc! Anyway...
If you went to the York meet, then you will have seen the trailer I borrowed, And how I laughed about the job I had reversing it onto my driveway after I picked it up (took me a good 10-15 mins!) ;D :-[
Well… Ive just got back, and reversed it straight on, no problems, first attempt! :y Only difference was there was a bit more light, so I could see! :)
Well chuffed! :D

bravo :y
but I bet it was made easier by you taking half the hedge and wall out last time........ ::) ::) ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D

Easiest trailers are caravans, I once took a wrong turn and did a 7 point turn is a space barely wider than the length of the outfit and no chance of a turn round
-
try it in a lorry with 90 foot of concrete in your mirrors. still the flashing orange beacon mkes it easier to see the arse end.

HAHA!!!
Nah, Its parked next to my Vectra (But I wanted it fairly close - prob to close for a newbie!) But ive managed it, Drive is on a slope too which doesn't help!

The smaller the trailer the harder it is as you have to take the lock off much earlier.
If i can do it anyone can!!!! [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]

When I did my HGV test some cough cough years ago I was taught by an old school HGV driver. When reversing in a straight line use your 'wing' mirrors, whichever wing mirror you can see more of the trailer in steer slightly towards that mirror and it'll straighten up. Much better than the modern hang out of the window/never on the blindside reversing they teach nowadays. I'm off the wagons now but mostly did continentals with a 50' double deck chiller.

Well done !!! :y :y :y
In my past I 've tried reversing my relatively small trailer, and its most embarasing when you get the trailer at right angles to the car, and have to start all that working out what to do next.

Aye! second time I tried reversing my small diy trailer, I gave up... Abandoned car in middle of the road, jumped out and moved the bloody thing by hand ;D

when trying to keep it all straight when reversing, move top of the steering wheel towards whichever mirror has the most trailer init!! ;D

Same here, still use mirrors for reversing whatever I am driving, even more so these days as the turning round, arm on the passenger seat, and look out the back is difficult..... :y

Easy way to reverse a caravan is to unhitch it and use the remote motor mover! :D :D

Or, conversely, think only of the bottom of the steering wheel and move this in the direction you want the rear of the trailer/caravan to go.

My cars going fine with the new belt.... so good infact, that it did go a bit sideways exiting a roundabout, cant work out why though, maybe it was something to do with the fact it was wet, me booting it, and putting a bit of extra turn on sharply ::) ;D

I dont think I've done bad considering the drive is on a strange up hill angle, and I hardly tow, let alone reverse! ;D
