To see if I could shed any light on why it refused to start on Thursday for about 45mins of trying.
Present Engine codes
P0650 Malfunction indicator (MI) control circuit open/high (not suprising as the emissions bulb is blown)
P0567 Cruise control Resume signal high input (yep cruise doesnt work, so I guess must be stalk or brake switch fault)
Present Immobiliser code
B3059 No Engine request
Not present engine codes
P0170 Rich/Lean exhaust
P1130 O2 sensor 1
P0134 Dunno not listed, but id guess to do with O2 sensor again
P1700 CAN bus error
P1612 Immobiliser No or wrong signal
P1613 Immobiliser No or wrong signal
What happened on Thursday....
It had been running fine....switched it off for about 5mins (ign key not removed) then started again.....As soon as i put it in R it stalled.
Retrying to start it would try abit (like it was trying to catch) for a few secs then just crank over.
The only thing I did as suggested by another TD when he turned up was remove the ign key, lock/unlock the doors and try again.
This indeed worked and it started.
Coincedence :-/ or removing the key from the ign......cured it :-/
It hasnt had the problem since.....and ive cleared all the codes to see which ones come back if it does it again.
Any ideas why ive got that present immobilier code??
Cheers

Seems like an electrical problem.. :-/
the first check I would try is the chasis earth connections..

I suspect that the alarm sounder is starting to fail.
Reading the codes I noticed that the can has faulted and the immobiliser has also faulted.
Just idea disconnect the sounder and clear the codes then start the car for a while then check again for codes my guess is that the can should clear.
Cheers Iain

Thanks for the replies :y
Tho my 2.2 has always given a CAN bus error when i read the codes,
it appears to be comm error between engine ecu and g/b ecu....and i believe some other 2.2's suffer with this as well.
Im more concerned about the current immobiliser fault.

You been letting Holly play mechanic again TD?
Sounds like she's made a right dogs dinner of things.

Im working on a project at the moment and it concerns bbus failures and one thing we have noticed is that when the unit starts to fail it can send a spike signal that can almost disable the whole of the CAN network for a brief period.
That my start point disconnect the unit and have it tested
