FFS, it was nice and out of the way stuffed in with the spare wheel.
My English plates should be ok, got the GB thingy at the front.
Also going into Dunkirk which is not quite as busy, so fingers crossed.
-
Can you go snowboarding in Holland? I thought it was as flat as East Anglia.
I have never been snowboarding so excuse my ignorance if I'm being a numpty.

I have mine in the seatback pocket.
GB sticker goes on the boot silly!
Check your tire pressures, and before you start back. Picked up a nail, maybe on the ferry, when we went a few weeks ago.
Otherwise, no worries! :y

Glad you didn't forget that. I find it very useful when I can't find a flat surface for the jack to sit on.
Take plenty of warm bedding. It won't be desperately warm in a tent at night this time of year.
Have fun.

Unless I'm mistaken, if you have the GB integrated into the Euro star symbol on at least the back number plate that complies with the regs. (not strictly necessary on the front).

Have a good trip m8y keep meaning to visit friends over there in Arnhem area drive carefully :y
-
The first and second roundabout after getting off ferry is where the Police are usually.
Then when coming back over the border to France they hang about there but, as long a you keep to the speed limits and if you get stopped be polite you will have no problems.
I have been stopped dozens of times and never had a problem at all.
Enjoy the trip.. :y

Cheers all :y
Won't be needing a GB sticker, my number plate has the GB thingy in front of it.
Getting excited now, will treat the car to some BP Ultimate on the way down, i will need every extra bit of horse power the 4 pot can give, its going to be a tad heavy ::)
-
lmao at some of the posts, i think there are actually some snowy mountains /hills in the very far south west near belgium
the haynes manual isnt b'll'cks just has unnecessary bits that waffle on a bit..
-
Approx 250 miles from calais to amsterdam, be careful with the cakes, they aren't all made by Mr. Kipling.

I'd still pop one on - I recall when I started going to South of France there was still an issue, regardless of you having a euro style numberplate. Might have changed now though.

It's a lot flatter than East Anglia over 95% of the country, but there are a few bumpy bits in the South East corner.

Don't think you need to go anywhere near Amsterdam, but I suppose there are some people who might visit the place for pleasure.

No mountains, some hills, and I don't think they are likely to be snowy unless the rest of Europe is covered. And they're in the South East near the German and Belgian borders. The South West is Zeeland, and the highest things there are the sand dunes. And, of course, those Zeelanders returning from a pleasure trip to Amsterdam :)

I remember I was on my way back from Paris once with my mate Markie. We'd been on the road for a few hours, heading for calais along the E26 or A26 I think it was to catch a ferry home.
2 door J reg 950cc Vauxhall Nova, 2 lads. Back seat down, and so much booze on board the arches were scrubbing the tyres over bumps and no rear vision.
The toll road was very quiet, and I went blatting past what was an old looking transit van at about 90mph, foot to the floorpan. It was only afterwards we realised it was "La Policier..."
:-X ;D

taking a spare cam sensor, just in case i get a massive failure! - Its the crank sensor for the 4 pots really, it was working when i took it out, just had a warm starting issue. (took about 15 seconds of cranking..)
So still works.
Got a GB sticker in the Glove box...
Jaime - Is that gay Vodafone SIM of yours not picking up my txt?

Opps, replied. Sorry. I need a board out of it.

Just be careful coming out of Dunkirque, having done it countless times it is very easy to get lost. Even with the most up to date maps on my tomtom it kept getting me lost in the maze outside the port, and the signs are awful...

As per txt, will need to drop it off tomorrow now, i maybe over the limit ::)
How long does it take to remove? Would it be better having it for an hour or two over the weekend?

No it doesnt work.....its fubared.
Go and unplug your cam sensor and try to start your 2.2 then......think you might find it will crank for about 5 secs then still start ;)
BTW the same goes for the crank sensor :y
Dunno what happens if both sensors are unplugged at the same tho :-/
There you go a little experiment for......unplug em both and post back if it will start or not :y
This behaviour does not apply to the V6's

Don't forget the LARGE Rizla's ::)

PS Your Euro / GB plate is accepted now across the EU providing it has the ring of stars and the "GB" underneath on a blue background, and I never use the stickers anymore. ;)
