Title: Fat or big boned?

My Mac mini and my BT home hub are 8m apart.  However, lately, if I sit in front of the computer I am betwixt the two and I get no connection.  Move to the side, and it connects.  :-? :-[

SWMBO's lappy connects fine, 3m from the hub.  The desktop upstairs doesn't connect despite being directly above the hub, but it may have other issues with the Belkin card.
