Yesterday I went to local Vx dealer for a few bits for my mates Veccy. Whilst I was there I asked if the Trade Club offer on oil was likely to be extended, cos my card hadn't arrived yet and I knew it finished at the end of the year. Nice man said he could easily sort that for me anytime - so snapped his hand off for a box full plus an oil filter & a pollen filter whilst he was there. Result 1 :y
Then I went to see the General Manager who I know well and blagged the keys to a 52 reg 2.2CD -
5 mins later I'd swapped the MAF sensor into my motor and hoped the orange light would opps off for Christmas - but alas no. So now at least I know not to waste my money on a new one ( no emissions light before or after on the doner car). New semi clear pipe due on wednesday but what a good day out! :)

Dont even think about trying to soften us up. Vx dealers are NOT nice!

Agreed. - But the tubby parts lad was nice cos I waited while he ate his bacon roll whilst it was still hot ;D You give a little - you get a lot (20l of 10w40 in my case) :y

TBH I'm not sure. He couldn't give me a receipt as he booked it via a local garage account but I bought:
4 x 5l 10w40 semi synthetic
Pollen filter (£10 )
Oil filter ( £2 )
Throttle body gasket ( 50p )
Oil seal ( 50p )
Some other little gasket ( 50p )
Semi clear breather pipe ( ? )
+ VAT
All came to £55
I think the oils are £8 each + vat & on offer buy 3 get 1 free so £24 + vat = £28 ;)

That is TC price :y

I wonder if anyone is kind enough to furnish me with a Trade Club number - bacon boy says thats all he needs, no card, name or address for future buys. PM me if you feel festive - I won't abuse it & won't be offended if you dont. :y

Sign up with Autobahnstormer or Migweb and get a card that way - only £15 to £20, and (unlike certain websites) they do as they promise and not make members wait ages for it....
-
Is it really possible to just sign up to one of those websites, and get a trade card as simple as that?

I believe so, however you dont get a prices book or get access to TC website

Wow! Anyone know what main items are / are not available for discount with this card? I'm thinking of signing up today! I would make the £20 back after the first service!

Does anyone know how long these sites take to deliver the goods so to speak, only am thinking of joining migweb eventaully if only for the card. (more likely after xmas)

Autobahnstormers usually get card out within a week from my experience. Unsure about migweb. Vauxhallownersnetwork currently seem to be messing their members about for some reason...

Autobahnstormers thats quick, I thought best not with them being that I only drive a 4 potter ;D
Shall have to see about migweb although I'm sure there are other sites that do it so shall just have to look around.

I guess for obvious reasons all clubs may be slower this time of year getting stuff out...
I was (still am) a member of ABS mainly for the card. I never did get access to their forum, despite asking twice, but all the help I need can be found here.
Now that I have blagged a real TC card, I doubt I will be renewing my membership with ABS in the summer...

Got my MIGweb card after 4 weeks although my local stealership says that it is not a TC card, and would only give me trade discount with it (about 10%) Have filled out a propper TC application form from Vx and am waiting to see if i get one.

yep, that's the main reason why I initially joined migweb - although my local dealer said that the membership number on the card wasn't recognised as their computer system been recently changed :'( But I get TC prices anyway ;D
... but TD is right about the lack of price book and TC website though ...
plus I found since joining that mig tend to have regular local meets too and are a good bunch of folks, plus at £15 a year they're cheaper than ABS :y

I never had my ABS card refused anywhere, despite it was ABS membership card, not TC card. Though it did have ABS TC member number on it...
