Title: Tonights Arguments...
Post by: PaulW on 14 October 2008, 20:31:27
Some of you may remember that 'idiot' who doesn't know s**t about cars asking me to help him buy one...

Well...

Tonight I'm off to Manchester, again (seems common) to pick someone up from the Apollo Theatre...

This 'idiot' is giving directions, and insists from where I am (CW84BX), you do *not* need to go on the motorway at all, and that its no where near picadilly station!!

Now, I've only looked on google maps to actually get the distance of apollo to picadilly (0.7 miles), but I know for a fact...

M56
A5103
Inner Ringroad (towards picadilly)
Come off it, turn right at lights (left leads straight to picadilly station)
3rd exit on Roundabout
Done...

I dare not think where this idiot is taking me with his directions... but needless to say, he's paying the fuel so I don't give a monkies!  Apparently we don't touch the A5103 either...  OR the inner ringroad...

Oh dear... I'll update when/*if* I get back  :-/

this is the problem i see if it was me, although he's paying for fuel, there will become a thin line that will be crossed when you start to feel that your time is being pointlessly wasted regardless of him paying!!

if you know exactly where the destination is, and are using your own methods of help, ie google maps or whatever else, then you should insist on making your own way there and ignoring him! :D

See its tempting to do that, but I'd rather he gets all the flack for us getting late/lost and then when we leave I just rub more salt in the wound and say 'this is the way I would have gone'

Anyways, time to go!

My cousin's missus argues with her sat nav all the time --- and is never wrong (apparently !)  ::)

Don't have Satnav....

Anyways, there route was to go straight through altrincham, under the M60, into the city center, then back via another random road, to the inner ringroad...

AA RouteFinder - pile of utter cack...
