Title: Whats The Worst Car You Have Ever Tried To Park
Post by: Mr Skrunts on 12 October 2008, 23:24:32
Worst dor me Was an XJS, trouble at the front was the long slopping bonnet, the back was the wierd rear view setup. :y

Easiest was a Honda Prelude with 4 Wheel Steering.   Soooo easy.

I once tried to move a VW Caravanette, no idea how the gearbox worked, for the life of me I could not find reverse.

Ford Galaxy. The parking sensors go off for no reason at all. I thought it was a faulty car but it's all of them. (I work for a car rental company and have 6 of these in stock)

Having just Googled for a picture, I wouldn't have thought you'd have any problems at all parking one of them. Other people might have a problem with you taking out their car/wall/etc but I doubt you'd notice! ;D  ;D  ;D
A bit like Kenny Everet when he parked his tank on the line of parked cars ;) ..... didn't he get into trouble for taking a parking meter out?  ::)

A box/Luton van, with no passenger wing mirror lost earlier in the day during a 'I cant stop in time down this narrow road, so in the hedge it goes' incident...  ...but at least I missed the car coming the other way ::)

This was running on barely 4....had to put it in neutral, rev the nads off it and drop it in drive or reverse and then quickly back to neutral to stop it stalling!

And i was parralel parking it in a spot which was less than 1.5x the car length!

Nissan Primera 1.8 SX my dad has one and i attempted to park it at the local tesco's u/g car park the turning circle is horrendus and the only reason it has a smart color reversing camera is because you cant see much out the back!

easiest well Ford Transit SWB with Tow bar and ladder steps just back her in when the steps hit the wall nudge it forward!  :y :y

1992 Pontiac Trans-Am. The turning from lock to lock was terrible, because of the width of the tyres. It use to catch me loads when i was trying to bay park. Made me look like i couldn't drive ::)

Ah, same van as mentioned above, only had it a few days (they replaced my Escort with a transit box van).  I found it very difficult to park it under the roof overhang of a customer's bungalow - believe me, I tried.  Very hard. £14,000 hard.  ::)

I can't think of a car that was difficult to park, but the easiet has to be my Dad's MKII Granada Estate, despite it's size. It's so square it makes it dead easy to park.

My Pontiac was brilliant for parking,  nudge it up to a car that was in my parking space and nudge it out of the way (hand brake on or off)  Oh I do miss that car.

A 1958 Duple 56 seater road coach (taxed as a "private car") that when I first started to drive it and backed it onto my drive for the first time (the neighbours couldn't believe what they were seeing! :o :o)  and took out a wooden fence post; but I missed the house!! :D :D ;)  Rear view virtually non existant!! ::) ::) ::) ::)

It was just long enough to park it without overhanging the public pavement! 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

I have a film picture of it parked up on the drive as I was so proud of my accomplishment, which I am soon going to have loaded up electronically which I will post one day!! ;)

Not a chance on my drive. Even if the gap at the side of my house was wide enough for a coach - I can reverse my caravan down there - there wouldn't be enough room to swing the front of the coach round. Harry - my neighbour across from me - is a BIG man & i don't think he's take too  kindly to me driving over his garden!  ;D  ;D  :y :y

Drove my ex-gaffers XJS a couple of times and it wasn't the best car to park. The funniest was a tiny little Fiat 126 which a complete stranger asked me to park after several failed attempts. You probably could have got a Mig in the space ;D ;D

An Austin Princess because it had a high back end and a Lada not because I couldn't see over the front of the bonnet or the boot its because I was ducking down with sheer embarrasment of driving it.

I hate to say it, but I have trouble parallel parking the Omega - don't know why - I don't normally have problems parking, and the Omega usually does everything I want it to.  No problem getting in and out of tight spaces but I just can't get the bloody thing to end up straight against the kerb. :-[ :-[ :-[

My Volvo 960 Estate was the easiest - you could get that into a space about 15" longer than the car with without too much trouble.

I dont think the omega is a particularily easy car to park.
there is no visibility beyond the bottom of the screens - front and rear, and the car widens by a few inches at the bottom of the side windows.
I am used to it,but mrs Bitz hates trying to park it,despite the fact that she is (allegedly) a much better driver than me. ::) ::)
My duaghter had a clit for a while and could only park it if she found 3 empty parking spaces side by side. the driving test must be too easy these days. ::) ::)

They are Skruntie when taxed as a 'private car' as the one I drove was!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;) It was also as far as the police were concerned then (1980s)! ;)

............and no car has ever been a trouble to me for parking, even that really large 56 seater one( ;)), but my father............well that is a different story........5 minutes frequently to park in a space with everything lined up correctly!! ;D ;D :D ;)

Woman are, as Dusty states :y, usually better parkers, apart from those in 4X4's.....now I must stop getting into my usual rant! >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Was going to say being HGV positive gives me an unfair advantage but Skruntie reminded us it's a car post so hardest is the Mig because i'm scared of scuffing the alloys.
Easiest was my Marina Van (if i'm allowed that as a car) because i was 19 & thought it was funny to handbrake turn into spaces, just a phase i went through when i had that vehicle & did'nt care.
Silly thing is i got quite good at it!!!! ::)

Truth be known I find small cars hardest to park! Give me a big car and I'll squeeze it into the tiniest of spaces, likewise a lorry, but stick me in the likes of a clit and I have a real nightmare  :-[ :-[ :-[
