Title: 50 years of Blue Peter
Post by: Dusty on 16 October 2008, 19:53:46
Blue Peter has just recently celebrated 50 years :o :o

Having grown up with Blue Peter, I have my favourite presenters.

Best of all is John Noakes whom I absolutely adored. He and Shep could do no wrong. His greatest achievement was free falling 5 miles as the 1st civilian in Britain to do so ;) ;)

Other favourites are Valerie Singleton and Peter Purves.  ;)

I was wondering if any of the OOFers liked Blue Peter, or were perhaps inclined like Mr Dusty to prefer Magpie, because it had Jenny Hanley (blond bimbo) in it. :-/

Who if any was your favourite presenter?
 :-* :-* :-*

Ah Dusty you are still young enough not to remember the first male presenter who partnered Valerie; Christopher Trace  -  lovely man :-* :-* :-*, who never apparently got over finishing with the show. :'(

I believe that Leslie Judd off Blue Peter was once married to Derek Fowlds who plays Oscar Blaketon in Heatbeat. :-/

I missed a lot off Blue Peter as a kid ,lived in Germany as me dad was in the army out there so only really remembered it with john noakes(Down Shep!!!) and the rest of the crew , wasnt till 1974 that used to watch it regular , was a rush home from school to watch it  :) :). we never had the bbc telly out in germany unlike now so we had to watch german telly or listen to BFBS , oh how things have changed, so many things to watch and most off it rubbish, wish we could turn back things to a simpler time ;) ;)
