Sounds like a scenario for the Jeremy Kyle Show! >:(

Unfortunately, Tony, I dont see theres much that you can do. Babies cry, parents get tired and irritable (no need for the foul language, I agree) and its sleepless nights all round.
Your only consolation is that, sooner or later, baby will sleep through. (And grow up, and have wild parties :()

Oh boy, that sounds like hell!! :o You've got my sympathy there mate, you feel pretty damn helpless in these sort of situations. Having had 2 kids of my own I know what it's like when you can't stop them bawling their heads off. I used to find the only way of stopping my first son from screaming his head off during the night was to get up, strap him in the baby seat in the car and go for a drive for half an hour and he'd be snoring his head off by the time I got back, but it didn't help my lack of sleep!!
In your situation though, it's totally out of your control and it's difficult to know what to do for the best. Are these people that you can talk to about the problem or are are they likely to bite your head off? (Judging by the conversation they have with each other this sounds unlikely. :( Are they council tenants? in which case it might be worth talking to the council to see if they can help in any way. As a last resort, maybe speak to your GP and ask for some sleeping tablets for a short period.
Hope you get it sorted mate.

Reminds me of an old burglars trick in Liverpool, Bob. Out at night in the car, looking for a suitable premises to enter illegally, always have a bottle of fresh milk in the back seat. If you get a tug, you've just been to the all-night garage for milk for crying baby. Ahhh.

I would go and see the neighbours again and point out that it still hasn't got any better since the last time you spoke to them, then if it carried on I would pester the council as they have an obligation. I would also keep a diary of the times and duration of the noise as this is the first thing the council will ask you to do. I know you cannot stop a baby crying thats a fact of life but the screaming parents can be delt with.
Hope you get a good kip soon

Cheers for replies, been to just about everyone over this, council, occupational health, my managers, solicitors all have shrugged their shoulders. i understand babies cry had one myself 11 years ago but i just need some sleep, i believe the council should not place babes in close proximity flats. but have found out today that the council have been into the small group of flats and have ripped their heads off (so i have not been the only one to complain). the couple are not intimidating in any way (probably would be to someone else though) ive dealt with enough "funny people" during my time in the army but they are the sort of people to not grasp the seriousness of the situation. anyway they are on a "written warning" from the council so lets see what occurs from now on.......zzzzzzzzzzz
sorry dozed off !! pandaize tone.
