can anyone recommend a company for new drivers under 21,best premiums etc.A friend of mine has accquired a 2.0 rover 820(ahem) for £1,don't ask.Anyhow he looked on moneysupermarket.com and the cheapest quote was £3500(£7200 for the most expensive)for 3rd party.fire and theft. As i'm only paying £200ish for my MV6 it seems totally way out there, but age has it's benefits. You might lose your hair and expand in the middle but you can great insurance deals. :)

TPFT was about £1035 ish for my 3.0 Elite. I had just turned 20, and thats with direct line. :y
That was with 2 years driving exp, 1 yrs NCB, 1 crash on file. (Clean licence) :y

Try go compare.com.
-
Also try others who don't use comparison sites, for example I found Tesco cheap when I had mine (didn't use to be on comparison sites, may have changed now though?)
-
gocompare were the best site i used, there is a company called First insurance on it and although i think they're very maticulous in the criteria they require (but you either fit it or you dont), they gave a fantastic price!!
my renewal on my omega would have been about £800 with my previous insurer, but i'd changed cars anyway, i'll get an imaginary quote anyway and see what it could have been!

I've found all the online sites like confused.com etc useless for me, however they worked wonders with my parents...

turns out the insurance company i'm with now on the corsa actually wouldnt have insured me on the omega :(

V6's & 2.5TD's are high insurance groups and most insurance companys just say No to under 21's
Vectra V6 SRi is cheap to insure i had one when i was 19 with Quinn Direct 2 years NCB £800 :y
MV6 with 4yrs NCB FC is £630
Rover 820's are mega money to insure as theyre Turbo Charged 820 Turbos

probably the best thing for the guy would be to get himself an oldish Micra or another "sewing machine" if he can "take the shame".I might look into putting him on works insurance depending on what that does to my premiums.robbing fekkers the insurance companies, took 6 months for my brother to get paid out when a burst pipe caused flooding whilst away. They even wanted him to keep the carpet which was soaked and susequently shrank. >:(

My 3.0ltr is insured with churchill insurance, oh yes, Ok I have 8 years no claims 38 yrs old clean license and pay £292 a year.
Ok age seems to play a part in it as well as post code but still its cheap and its fully comp.

I'm afraid I don't know now as it was an awful long time since I was under 21, and some time since my children were!! ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D ;)
No, seriously, I believe you have to 'shop around' and speak to as many insurance companies and brokers as you can, not forgetting the internet nowadays. :y :y
