This is not good Nickbat, as children need to be introduced to "the story of the World" at an early age, certainly in Junior schools. ::) ::) ::)
History, Geography, and even a sprinkling of Politics etc does them no harm in introducing them to the real world. They should be allowed to learn there is another life outside of computer games and "safe" educational themes. I loved learning about the Black Death, Harrold with an arrow in his eye, etc!! ::) ::) :D ;)

Don't these people ever learn ????? "Back to Basics" --- which party used that as a by-line?
We need to get the foundations firm again, before the lot comes crashing down around our ears --- and all they do is undermine the whole process !!!!!!!!

This is yet another trendy idea by labour luvvies. Before they do any thing else they should teach our children to read, speak and write correctly, that is a basic necessity in any culture. I am all for regional dialects and differences ( I'm a geordie ) but a lot of the young folk watch eastenders too much and consequently can't even speak properly, E.G. I'm wiff him ( instead of with ), bofe of us are here ( instead of both ), the list is endless. Our Englishness is being given away by ministers who have little or no knowledge of the department they are in charge of, unlike the jocks/taffies and irish we do not fly our national flag from public buildings, a sure sign that those inside ( the policy makers ) do not care or want to know what being proud of your country means. Try flying the English flag in Iran, Pakistan, Romania, France or Germany and see what happens, I like the French very much, they want to be French and nothing else and take very little nonsense from those who want to be "multicultural". Live in England - be English and respect our laws and traditions otherwise move on. Unfortunately this will never happen, it is too late and there is not one politician with the backbone to even raise the issue. Makes the BNP worth a try.

I hate hearing poor grammar on TV as people start thinking that it is acceptable.
My daughter always does text messages with correct spelling!

So do I -- and my daughter finds it amusing!!! Dad is a dinosuar, after all !!!

Way back when CB Radio was still illegal, a colleague of mine was in a car with one and when offered a go on it and came out with "Good evening, is there anybody listening who would like to speak to me?"
There was a stunned silence then everyone was splatting over each other trying to get in and speak to him to have a real conversation.
Same thing with Catherine Tate's characters...kids don't seem to realise she is taking the p*** out of them.
