Title: I hate Peugeots even more
Post by: waspy on 31 October 2008, 16:30:44
I've always had an hatred of the horrible french things, but having just part seviced one, my hatred has grown >:(
1st i changed the oil & filter without too much bother.
2nd i changed the air filter, also without too much bother.
3rd was the spark plugs turn. NO!!!!!! They have a horrible plastic thing on that runs in line with the plugs that you have to remove, undid one bolt with no worries, then comes the 2nd ones turn. It's actually a piece of threaded bar with two nuts that are tightened up securing what looks like a supressor :-/ The bar turns, but the nuts don't, but you can't get a 10mm spanner on, because there's not enough space for it to go in. Any way, bad light stopped play & after arsing around with it for over an hour i decided enough was enough.
Tomorrow (weather permiting) i'll have to file/grind down a spanner thin enough to go on >:(
My back aches from bending over the piece of crap & it also drew blood on my knuckle >:( >:( >:( & to top it off, the dipsticks plastic end has fallen off & is probably in the sump.

HORRIBLE FRENCH PIECES OF POO

well youve summed up pugs pretty well pete!, when i first started taxi driving my 1st car was a 305 petrol, to change the points you had to take the dizzy out as it was right down the back of the engine!!!

It's the quality, there isn't any :-? Well i guess you get what you pay for. The lass who owns it, says she'll never buy another Peugeot.
I know what you're saying James, the diesels are cracking engines, it's just the stuff around them that's crap :(

french cars suck.... years ago my old boss had a 6 month old Megan, it squeked and rattled, trim had fallen off, the engine sounded rough as anything, was a heap of shite!!

He paid 8k for it too  :o

My 8 year old barge with 115k has no squeeks or rattles!

The plastic end on the dipstick is a known problem with pugs and they do fall off easily. Built cheap to sell cheap :-X
