by that i don't mean do a Reggie Perrin, i mean become less trackable....
I have been thinking about this since i started my new contract, personal smart cards in the transport industry.
At key points in the day i am trackable, like now for example, whilst i am away from home i have a paper trail that leads me to this area by virtue of the bank withdrawls, my phone being connected to a network that can triangulate me and CCTV cameras that most likely have ANPR systems built into them.
so in order to ensure the world and his dog knows less about my life what else would i have to do?
can i just say this is just a hypothetical, sometimes i am concerned about the amount of my life is being tracked......and for what purposes as well?

Move from the UK! :-? :y

I think it's a disgrace that so many aspects of our lives are monitored. people say if you do nothing wrong you have nothing to worry about. If you told a guy in a pub twenty years ago having a pint and a fag that he was a criminal you'd have been laughed at. I believe in the need for laws but they appear to be a means to control our lives rather than allowing society to run smoothly. Roll on 1984 and BIG BROTHER will watch YOU

......
Search online for how London hookers and pimps operate for more details. ;)
;D ;D ;D ;D

I would imagine it would be pretty difficult these days,we are the most watched country in the world (with one of the highest crime rates)
:( >:(

Make friends with JK Rawlings and see if she'll lend u Harry's invisibility cloak?
-
Or join forces with the illegal immigrants, living in the twilight zone, and I do not mean the ones being paid £2.50 per hour. I mean the ones who are working, renting homes, driving cars and seem to be of little interest to the authorities. >:( :-X :-X :-X
-
I don't think that Joe Public really knows how much BIG BROTHER is listening / watching them.
as has been said, atm's cctv, dvla, anpr, NHS number, NI number, PNC banks and many many more.
motor factors:- reg number for car parts
credit scoring:- postcode and door number and they will tell you your name.
to name a few
if you ever have held a bank account, had a utility bill, signed on, mobile phone, YOU ARE TRACABLE .
-
Unfortunately we are the most monitered country in the world when it comes to CCTV.
If you wana disappear of the scope, the first you should do is ditch the mobile.
-
I just shut my eyes and the World disappears!! 8-) 8-) 8-)
They're coming to take me away today, ha,haa, he, hee......those nice young men in their lovely white coats.........they're coming to take me away today, ha,haa, he, hee...... :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D ;)
(Words borrowed from the song "They're Coming To Take Me Away, Ha-Haa" Napoleon XIV (1966) )
That is the only way to escape big brother now in the UK!! :D ;)

1) Sack Waquie Jaquie
2) False Plates
3) Pull battery from mobile
4) Use cash
5) Use a proxy while surfing and encrypt
-
Ditch your car, your mobile phone and your credit cards and you can move around a little more freely.
.. and we thought the reason for our crap public transport network was simply down to incompetence and lack of investment.

Pay as you go mobile and change it every month or so....pay cash for the top up cards. Cash in hand jobs would be a little more tricky though.

weren't the government mumbling about about changing the rules on
pay as go to make them easier to trace.

first thing you have to do is get off the electorial register. close all accounts/credit cards. thats about the bare minimum. depends how far off the radar you want to go. ::) ::) ::) ::)

My mobile phone is only ever switched on when I want to make a call, I never carry my wallet, and try to use the m/bike as much as possible. And only use cash for buying stuff.
I believe this makes me as reasonably invisible as is possible these days.
You cannot avoid CCTV unless you wear head gear, and while walking this will probably attract more attention.
I generally wear safe neutral clothes with no logos or statements on them as well.
The only way I can be tracked is by my PC. (I hope)

In which case, buy a wireless laptop and sit outside the house of an unsecured source and hide your IP address. ;D ;D ;D ;D
Personally, I'd rather be in Africa. :y :y :y :y :y

Become a Middlesborough FC supporter, their home games appear to be attended by a lot of invisible people.

Its all in the preparation, you need to sand everything well first :D

I thought that was the whole point of the craze for hoodies and baseball caps - and the whole point of establishment talk about banning them?
It would be a tough deal to exist in any decent way without a bank account these days. Cash in hand jobs tend to pay subsistence wages.
I agree with an earlier poster - move out of the UK.
-
Strange isn't it that someone can kidnap and imprison someone for years and no one would know BUT
you try and move anywhere and you are tracked. British authorities can now see (if they ask) details of your bank withdrawals abroad.
Vodaphone is going to apparently disconnect PAYG mobiles in Spain by a certain date next year unless you have registered the phone. Here everything is tied to one thing- your ID card which has a unique number.
One small example of how you are watched is when you become resident in Spain your bank account has to change to become a residents bank account and the police ring you up to remind you of this fact.
Having said all that if someone wants to disappear then travel by train over here with a suitcase full of cash (and hope customs don't look into it) then you can live here totally incognito and help me fix the many and varied faults on my Omega. I'll say to neighbours you are my brother or sister. If there are loads of applicants those skilled in gearboxes get first go. ;D ;D
