just wondering if anybody else out there will be watching the f1 today.
coulthards retireing
itv's last race
and hamilton could be the youngest champion ever.
or will it be just me tuning in.
-
watching, hardly moved from sofa since yesterday morning ::)
-
Watching it myself, mostly for the 'end of the pier show' aspect. Lewis has too many people not wanting him to win as he is fighting Ferrari, the FIA, Alonso etc etc etc....Even if the stewarts were being even-handed how do you deal with Alonso 'accidentally' taking off one of Lewis' wheels?
-
me too, we should be celebrating a British world champ at the end of the race. something that doesnt happen very often.
After all the interferance to try to stop him ,I really hope he gets it. :y
Rain predicted.....should suit Hamilton.
Rumour in the paddock that Trulli has agreed to help Massa get through the 1st corner without any hassle. If true,he should be banned. >:(
-
really hope he wins. just what the sport needs. got a bad feeling that he's gonna get gang f**ked tho. too many people dont like him.

No. What it needs is a radical rethink, and the current commitee haven't the brains or the balls.
Ultimately, if they ban overtaking - which they have in effect - why watch? Where is the fun in overtaking in pitstops, thats not exciting. The audience needs to see Senna V Prost wheel to wheel stuff.

:y :y :y :y :y :y :y

Or villenueve versus Arnoux -for those with longer memories. :y
It has started raining as they are sat on the grid. :y
-
Gave up watching F1 when Mansell/Prost/Senna (et al) era 'departed'...This yoof-ful bunch since, seem a little too 'safe' and the whole sport; `way-too fiscally obsessed. :-[
-
I think its just possible we may have some excitement in the next hour or so.
-
Let's hope it's the right sort..... :-?
-
I can see this going horribly wrong. Kovalainen is a tosser.
-
Feel a bit sorry for Coultard though now. 1st corner off! :-/
-
Team radio told vettel to "stay close to Massa", was that code for "dont pass Massa" ?
engine supply could depend on it. :(
Kris9128 or Admin ,maybe put spoiler in thread title ?

You've made an assumption that anyone cares what happens :-/
Those who want to watch, will be watching now anyway, not like the early morning ones...
-
just thought it might be possible that someone might not be able to watch live, and want to watch repeat later (if there is one?) :-/
-
title changed as requested :y :y
-
Better safe than sorry ! :y
-
agreed. ;D ;D
-
Oh nooooo!
It's raining again...
Or is it?
It's all down to the tyres now.
EDIT: And Glock wins it for him!
-

-

Bloody Ferrari fans boo'ing

Shades of the old America's Cup yacht racing where if there was any danger of the host nation being beaten there always seemed to be a reason to call off the race. Leave it until the last 100 yards with a clean pass and there is no time to come up with a penalty

ffs mate. ok you dont like f1. thats fair do's but some members here do like it. stop posting on f1 threads if you hate it that much.

Chill ;)
I used to be an F1 fan, but it lost its only true driver - Shithead Schu - a couple of years back.
The FIA needs to do something big, as its started going away from a spectator sport, and will become a closed shop, not quite in the spirit of other forms of motorsport. That will be bad news. Shame the 'other' championship never got off the ground.
My other annoyance is the 'Hamilton Factor' - in true Brit style, everyone is now into F1, Lewis this, Lewis that. Now I'm all for supporting the Brits, but its hesteria around him.
-
And nobody think Toyota were paid off?
Are they short of a few bob then ? ::)

Just rewatched a replay of that bit, wasn't raining any harder at that point than previous lap, so maybe he had a breakdown, but enough power to get up that long hill. His times appeared to be good up until last 2 sectors :-/

Payoffs don't have to be monetory....
-
Like The Boy I`d gone off F1 Over recent years, that was the first race i`ve sat down to watch in ful for about 3 years...
...and it was Brilliant!!
Roll On next Season..and Well done Lewis :y

Was an F1 fan since the 70,s got very disillusioned since the loss of senna, and technology ruining the spectacle, buit I do believe that Hamilton is a breath of fresh and a real genuine racer.
hopefully all the new regs. planned will start putting the sport back on the right track ie, plenty of wheel to wheel racing, and if it does ,I reckon Hamilton will excel.

Jamie are you sure you're not a closet Ferrari fan ::)?
yes F1 ain't exactly the best spectator racing but give the kid his dues he can drive :y

Just dont know what would be in it for Toyota, or how maclaren would get away with it without a billion dollar fine. :-/

Agree that Hamilton seems to have the same desire/fire to win as Schumacher (unlike Button/Coulthard/Hill, dunno about Davidson as he never had a decent car), who in turn had the Senna/Prost, and Mansell to an extent, desire.

I'm with you on that. Glock did the honours for Lewis - and I think he knew that with Vittel.
What remains is that we have a British champion. That's good and I am chuffed with that.
MotoGP starts on April 12th BTW. Much better to watch than F1 :y

Its one way the FIA can ensure Ferrari win the title ;D

It needs someone with enthusiasm, be interesting to see what Richard Hammond brings to it all
Depends what the backup ones are like, they need an ex driver on board. Brundells insight was always good, and shut up that clown which is James Allen.

If I had to support a team, it would be McLaren, based purely on the fact my brother worked there for years. I suppose Honda as well, seeing as they are based in town, but they are useless, with 2 has-beens drivers.

Too true.
But congrats to Hamilton....race pretty dreary until the last few laps..then edge of seat stuff.
For some reason most of the F1 drivers do not like Hamilton....some of this is because he is good .....but there is another reason....I think he just rubs other drivers up the wrong way. :y :y :y
-
What a race and what a result, best race of the season :y
-
Well done Lewis.
