Say that the money was available, what would you think would be a suitable upgrade from an Omega?
VXR8?
Insignia (4x4 model)?
Theoretically speaking of course...
Practically both cars are usefull. Both 4 door, both (in my eyes) look good. VXR8 has the advantage of the grumble of the V8 though over the Insignia...
;)

Monaro VXR, VXR8 and I hadn't considered it, but the XF SC 4.2 would be a very, very credible upgrade car in my eyes. My only issue with it is that it looks like an enlarged Mondeo.
I think I'd like a decent SC upgrade to my Elite with an LSD though as a 1st step. Bit of sleeping. :y

i still like the 300C, and the price is plummeting on them something rotten currently.....
18 month old CRD with all the trimmings, 30K miles.....£14995
18 months ago it owuld have cost someone 30K
-
Insignia makes you feel a bit squeezed in inside, whereas the Omega is big and spacious inside.
Really not sure what I'd go for, quite like the S-Type but would have to be one of the very last models that had some improvements. Not 100% about the interior though I do like the exterior.
Not sure there is much available as an upgrade at Omega prices.......

Agreed..

But to answer the question , V8 consumptions are not for every budget..
Insignia more logical..

V6 turbos will not differ from V8 but honestly these are not daily cars for usage .. At least under those economic conditions.. :-/

Just don't get an Insignia V6 turbo with autobox 'cause it really doesn't suit it, you have to floor the pedal to the kickdown switch to get it to drop down a gear whereas the Omega seems to drop down just when you need it to without having to floor the throttle.
Hopefully GM will take a look at the software on the box and make some tweaks.

According to VX, you can only have the 2.8 with an automatice transmission, the manual is greyed out when you choose that engine.

Will probably only exist on plod spec!
I'm really not impressed with the box on the 2.8

Well if its a plod option, wonder how hard it will be to persuade them to do it as a consumer option...
See, I like the interior in the Insignia, looks lush! The VXR8 is quite bland...
But the VXR8 has the V8 and the sound of hell itself with the Wortec exhaust!
I did a quick google, there are a few sites claiming on a V8 insignia... but its just pure rumours...
